About the role:

Four Seasons Hotel Madrid is seeking an Assistant Housekeeping Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Housekeeping and to the Assistant Director of Housekeeping, the Assistant Housekeeping Manager assists in providing the operational and management support to the Housekeeping Department. The Assistant Housekeeping Manager is in-charge for the day to day operation in the Housekeeping department in making sure all runs smoothly for guests and employees. This is an Assistant Department Head level position.

What you will do:

• Manages a team of Supervisors, Room Attendants and House Attendants responsible for the cleaning and upkeep of a specific area of the hotel. Interviews, trains and schedules the staff.  Conducts Performance Evaluations and disciplines staff when needed.
• Ensures the smooth daily operation of the Housekeeping and Valet departments.
• Schedules work to be done daily and monitors each Room Attendant’s daily progress. Inspects completed rooms to assure that all standards have been met.  When standards have been missed, brings employee back to room and coaches the employees on how to correct the deficiency. Coordinates work orders in assigned section.  Follows up to be sure work is completed.
• Demonstrates a strong leadership presence for our guests, employees and suppliers.
• Achieves high standards of cleanliness, by working closely with outsourced employees and our internal supervisors.
• Liaises with engineering, outsourced laundry and front office departments to deliver optimum performance and collaboration.
• Oversees stock control and keep the par levels and inventory including sourcing new products, suppliers and keeping up to date with trends.

What you bring:

Our ideal Assistant Housekeeping Manager candidate have previous Rooms Division or Housekeeping Management, preferably within a large hotel that delivers five-star quality. The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with people at all levels, across all areas, including outsourced contractors, suppliers, guests and of course our employees. You must have the legal right to work in Spain and have fluency in English and Spanish.
