Description
As a Network Engineer II, you'll play a key role in maintaining the secure, reliable technology infrastructure that supports care across Compass Health Network. You'll design, implement, monitor, and optimize enterprise network systems while helping ensure seamless connectivity for staff and the communities we serve. This role partners with IT leadership to strengthen network performance, support organizational growth, and deliver dependable technology solutions across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, configure, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless technologies, and security appliances.
- Design and implement scalable network solutions that support organizational growth and performance.
- Monitor network health, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
- Support network security through best practices, system hardening, backups, and disaster recovery planning.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement approved network upgrades, maintenance, and change requests.
- Manage monitoring platforms and notification systems to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Research and evaluate network technologies, products, and services to support future initiatives.
- Collaborate with vendors, contractors, IT leadership, and cross-functional teams on network projects.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior Network Engineers.
- Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation to support critical network operations.
Requirement, Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- High School/GED Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
- Three (3) years equivalent work experience preferred
- Expert knowledge of various routing/switching protocols
- High level understanding of configuration and deployment of Cisco/Meraki, HP, Aruba, Velocloud SD-WAN and Fortinet devices and software
- Expert knowledge of security standards configuration of network hardware/software
- High level ability to troubleshoot and problem solve complex networking issues
- Ability to conduct research into networking issues and products as required
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment preferred
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- A valid, unrestricted driver’s license and agency established minimum automobile coverage required
- Cisco Networking certification (CCNA or CCNP) or equivalent required
- Ability to communicate technical information and concepts in a clear, user-friendly manner
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong self-direction and initiative
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
