About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking Data Management Associate for Commercial Banking Data Strategy team with expertise in all or majority of aspects/activities like Master Data, Reference Data, Data Quality, Data Governance, Data Lineage and/or Metadata related activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in SQL and/or other ETL tools along with Expertise in Excel along with understanding of requirements of Data Governance Policy and procedure to meet their expectations. Understand risk and control framework Exceptional communication and writing skills are essential for this role
In this role, you will:
- Analyze, assess, and test data controls and data systems to ensure quality and risk compliance standards
- Perform tactical and routine data quality, metadata analysis, governance activities and remediation
- Provide support for communications with basic documentation related to requirements, design decisions, issue closure, or remediation updates
- Monitor data governance, data quality and metadata policies, standards, tools, processes, or procedures to maintain common data control
- Support managers on execution of tasks and steps throughout the issue remediation life cycle for data issues
- Interact with and process data as provided by third party data providers
- Help develop and lead programs, initiatives for Master Data, Reference Data, data quality, Data governance, and Data Lineage and metadata related activities
- Help design and conduct complex analysis to identify and remediate data quality or integrity issues and to identify and remediate process or control gaps
- Understanding of loan life cycle such as loan origination, underwriting, portfolio management, collateral management, loan accounting services.
- Adhere to data governance Policy, standards and procedures
- Analyze, assess, and test data controls and data systems to ensure quality and risk compliance standards are met.
- Help develop recommendations for optimal approaches to resolve data related issues
- Help develop and implement plans for assessing the quality of new data sources
- Help drive planning and coordination on low to medium sized remediation efforts, acting as central point of contact
- Leverage domain expertise and data, business, or process analysis to identify, inform, discuss support and deliver solution design
- Consult with clients to assess the current state of data and metadata within area of assigned responsibility
- Participate in cross-functional groups to develop companywide data governance strategies
- Provide input into communication routines with stakeholders, business partners, and experienced leaders
- Demonstrated risk management/mitigation in the management and delivery of data (identify, communicate, mitigate, and escalate risk originating from non-compliance of processes, operational errors, and data integrity issues in all applicable processes. Mitigate data risk for the company by identifying data issues and effective remediation.
Required Qualifications:
- 6+ months of Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, or Project Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- GenAi tools usage experience is must
- Certification and expertise in all or some tools like - SQL, Alteryx, Power BI, Advanced Excel, or related data tools. Strong proficiency in SQL for extraction, analysis and data manipulation is a must.
- Knowledge of industry best practices for data management
- Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills with ability to turn findings into strategic initiatives
