Production Technician

Description

The Production Technician is responsible for creating accurate Production Requests and BOMs for the Synthetics Shop from the orders provided by the Sales Team.

Essential Functions:

• Transitions Production Request from the Sales Department to the Production Shops including making pick tickets, BOMS, and tags.
• Reviews the components on BOMs and the corresponding ratings on tags for accuracy. 
• Maintains the capacity references and templates for the tags within the synthetics department.
• Inventories and audits all materials used in the tagging area.
• Manages the stock replenishment programs (Tagged and Non-Tagged) including running Reorder Reports and creating the associated restock production requests and tags.
• Provides Lead Times to the Sales Team based on the forecasted production requirements of the Synthetics Shop.
• Works closely with Quality during the New Product Development process.
• Cross-trained in additional areas of the synthetics department to provide relief when needed.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Proficient with computers and related software including Microsoft Office Suite. 
• Ability to follow directions and work well in a team. 
• Ability to interpret and translate Bill of Materials (BOM) production instructions and documentation. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong math, reading and communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required. 
• Associate degree preferred. 
• A minimum of one to two years' experience in a related discipline required. 

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods working on feet or sitting for a prolonged amount of time. 
• This job regularly requires verbal communication of detailed information to others either by phone or in person.
• Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs.
• Visual acuity to read instructions and inspect products/tags/labels. 

Compensation and Benefits:

• Pay Rate: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour.
