Hours: 7am to 5pm

 

About the Role
We are recruiting a reliable and experienced HIAB Class 2 Driver for a builders merchant based in Rainham, East London. This role involves delivering building materials to customers and construction sites, using your crane operating skills to ensure deliveries are completed safely and efficiently.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver with HIAB experience who is confident operating a lorry-mounted crane and providing a professional delivery service.

 

What You’ll Do

• Drive a Class 2 HGV to deliver building materials to customers and construction sites.

• Safely operate a HIAB crane to load and unload materials.

• Secure loads correctly and ensure goods are transported safely.

• Complete delivery paperwork and follow daily delivery schedules.

• Carry out vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance issues.

• Follow health and safety procedures at all times.

• Provide a professional and helpful service to customers on delivery.

 

What We’re Looking For

• A valid Category C (Class 2) driving licence.

• At least two years of experience operating a HIAB crane.

• Confidence loading and unloading building materials safely.

• A good understanding of vehicle safety, load security and road regulations.

• A reliable, safety-conscious approach and good customer service skills.

 

Who Might Suit This Role
This role would suit an experienced HIAB Driver, HGV Class 2 Driver, LGV Class 2 Driver or crane lorry driver. Candidates with experience delivering building materials, timber, roofing supplies, bricks, blocks or other construction products would be particularly well suited.

Experience working for a builders merchant, construction supplier, haulage company or building materials distributor would also be beneficial.
