Subject to Role SummaryAs a Senior Account Manager, you will serve as the primary commercial lead for Duke Energy and other strategic accounts within our Power Transmission business. You will be responsible for driving business growth, managing high-stakes commercial relationships, and ensuring that sales outcomes align with our service, quality, and timeliness objectives. Operating with significant autonomy, you will leverage deep industry expertise to navigate complex commercial landscapes and develop innovative solutions that solve customer challenges.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Account Management: Lead the sales strategy for a defined territory, including Duke Energy. Act as the primary interface between the customer and our internal product and service teams.
- Commercial Execution: Independently manage and execute commercial arrangements and contracts within established operating budgets and guidelines. Exercise high-level judgment to negotiate terms that balance customer needs with organizational profitability.
- Business Development: Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities. Utilize data-driven research to develop account-specific growth strategies and influence the broader sales roadmap.
- Problem-Solving & Innovation: Analyze complex internal and external business challenges to recommend best-in-class solutions. Drive process improvements by offering recommendations that move beyond standard parameters.
- Leadership & Influence: Lead cross-functional project teams where necessary. Communicate complex technical or commercial concepts effectively to diverse stakeholders, including executives, engineers, and operations teams.
- Strategic Insight: Maintain a pulse on industry trends, regulatory shifts, and competitor activities to proactively adjust sales strategies.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college (or High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 8 years of experience in direct sales, business development, field service, or commercial roles within the industrial/utility/generation/renewable markets).
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the power transmission or utility industry.
- Ability and willingness to travel 20–50% of the time to customer sites and regional offices.
Desired Characteristics:
- Technical Acumen: Engineering degree (Electrical preferred) or equivalent technical background.
- Relationship Management: Proven ability to build long-term, trust-based relationships with C-suite executives, engineering leads, and operations managers.
- Negotiation Excellence: A track record of closing complex deals and negotiating successful, mutually beneficial outcomes in high-pressure environments.
- Analytical Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in interpreting market data and financial metrics to build actionable sales pipeline strategies.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written presentation skills; capable of simplifying technical/complex topics for varied internal and external audiences.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $128,400.00 and $213,900.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: sales incentive.
