Role Overview
Drive new business growth by building relationships with institutional investors and connecting them with data and analytics solutions that support investment, trading, risk management, and operational decision-making.
Role Responsibilities
- Proactively identify, qualify, and secure high-value new-logo opportunities across the buy-side market, building a strong pipeline of hedge funds, asset managers, pension funds, insurers, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, proprietary trading firms, and other institutional investors.
- Conduct consultative discovery to understand each prospect’s investment strategies, asset classes, data environment, and workflows across research, trading, pricing and valuation, portfolio construction, and risk management, then position the most relevant Parameta Solutions products and use cases.
- Map and engage the full buy-side decision-making group, including portfolio management, trading, quantitative research, risk, data, technology, operations, procurement, and market-data stakeholders, while partnering closely with SDRs on targeted outreach and effective lead handovers.
- Lead tailored presentations, product demonstrations, trials, and commercial proposals that clearly connect Parameta Solutions’ OTC data and analytics to buy-side outcomes, supported by strong market knowledge and collaboration with Product Specialists.
- Own opportunities from prospecting through negotiation and close, maintaining accurate Salesforce records, clear next steps, realistic forecasts, and disciplined pipeline coverage. Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets while ensuring a well-managed handover after contract signature.
Experience / Competences
Essential
- Demonstrated B2B new business sales experience in financial data, analytics, market data, or financial technology, ideally selling directly to buy-side institutions and navigating complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
- Strong understanding of buy-side workflows and client priorities across investment research, portfolio management, trading, quantitative strategies, pricing and valuation, market and portfolio risk, and data management; experience selling OTC or multi-asset market data is an advantage.
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding new business sales targets, with the ability to originate opportunities, develop senior relationships, and progress complex buy-side prospects from initial engagement to close.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a consultative approach and the credibility to engage both senior commercial decision-makers and specialist users, translate technical data capabilities into business value, and build consensus across a client organization.
- Comfortable working with CRM systems, particularly Salesforce, managing sales activities, tracking customer interactions, and analyzing data for informed decision-making.
Desired
- Familiarity with current buy-side trends, including changing market data consumption, cloud and data-platform adoption, systematic and quantitative investment, valuation governance, and increasing demand for differentiated datasets.
- Ability to use market intelligence, account research, CRM data, and sales analytics to prioritize buy-side prospects, identify whitespace, and develop focused territory and account plans.
- Experience working collaboratively across sales, SDR, product, marketing, legal, and client-service teams to coordinate complex evaluations, share market insight, and deliver a consistent experience from prospecting through handover.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, demonstrating flexibility and resilience in the face of challenges.
