The Senior Sales Planning Manager is responsible for assisting with sales activation activities, execution of the business unit's Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and the team’s attainment of Prepared business goals. This role will work with the SS&P and Sales leadership team members to ensure that the customer voice is embedded in internal decisions. They will provide analysis/insights on complex category initiatives, volume and share trends, and be a part of the S&OP demand process. The ideal candidate will be able to use data to assist in the development of category, channel and business driving programs and innovation strategies. This role will work with Sales leadership to enhance CRM integrity, and provide analytical feedback on CRM utilization and field compliance. This position will report to the Director, Prepared Foodservice SS&P.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be a voice for the field teams (street/regional chains), customer & internal business partners
- Assist with creating and evaluating investment alternatives using customer segmentation data
- Assist with strategy development and executional sales elements of the FS Prepared brands/categories throughout the planning process
- Utilize reporting to monitor FS Prepared AOP performance and offer insights on areas of opportunity
- Analyze business results through various sales, industry and category insight reports for the Prepared BU
- Participate in sales planning process for prepared Sales/BU and manage product allocation when necessary
- Provide key inputs into the S&OP process by providing customer/category intelligence
- Coordinate and manage forecasting performance review for prepared business unit
- Utilize reporting to track sales performance and achieve KPI goal attainment
- Provides inputs for consideration in the demand and financial forecast processes
- Utilize post-initiative recaps to improve forecasting and execution process
- Collaborate with field sales to assist in strategy execution and goal attainment
- Coordinate and communicate relevant information used for forecasting and deploying inventory to supply planning partners
- Key interactions include: SS&P VP and Directors from BU’s, Production Planning, Supply Chain, Revenue Management, and Customer Development
- Manages ad-hoc SS&P VP/Director requests
- Values, establishes, nurtures and maintains productive working relationships with internal stakeholders
Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree required
Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years' relevant experience in customer/trade marketing, sales, marketing & sales analytics, or category management
- MBA or master's degree in quantitative field preferred
- Demonstrated financial acumen, with joint growth planning experience a plus
Communication Skills:
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Strong influencing and negotiating skills
- Strong ability to articulate complex information in a concise manner and with proper context
- Demonstrated ability to partner with and influence cross-functional team members
Computer Skills:
- Intermediate-Advanced level for MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Teams
- Prior experience with Tyson CRM preferred
