Description
The Supervisor provides day-to-day leadership, coaching, and supervision to multidisciplinary staff and is responsible for program operations, workforce development, performance management, quality improvement, and service delivery. The position works closely with the Area Manager and other Public Health leaders to ensure programs meet operational, clinical, regulatory, and performance expectations.
As a member of the Downtown Public Health Center leadership team, the Supervisor contributes to overall site operations, strategic planning, problem-solving, and continuous improvement. The position develops and maintains strong relationships with community-based organizations, health care partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders to strengthen services and respond to the needs of the community.

Provide direct supervision to multidisciplinary staff assigned to programs and services at the Downtown Public Health Center, including hiring, onboarding, orientation, coaching, reflective supervision, performance evaluation, training, professional development, counseling, and corrective action.
Provide clear expectations, ongoing feedback, and accountability while fostering a supportive, respectful, and collaborative team environment.
Develop staff capacity through coaching, mentoring, delegation, and opportunities for professional growth.
Promote teamwork and effective communication across disciplines, programs, and service areas.
Support staff in navigating complex client situations, competing priorities, organizational changes, and challenging operational circumstances.
Model leadership practices grounded in respect, curiosity, transparency, accountability, and a client-centered approach.
Lead the planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of assigned programs and services.
Ensure programs operate in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, regulations, standards, and program requirements.
Monitor service delivery, staffing, workload, productivity, access, and other operational measures to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Use data and staff feedback to inform operational decisions, establish priorities, and improve services.
Participate in budget development, expenditure monitoring, resource allocation, inventory management, and financial reporting.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of required program, operational, and performance reports.
Identify operational challenges and work collaboratively with staff and leadership to develop sustainable solutions.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Provide leadership during periods of change, including implementation of new programs, workflows, policies, technology, and organizational initiatives.
Support delivery of accessible, culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and client-centered public health services.
Guide and mentor staff working with clients at the Public Health Center and, when applicable, in community settings.
Work collaboratively with community members, community-based organizations, health care providers, government agencies, and other partners to identify community needs and strengthen access to services.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners to support coordinated services and improve outcomes for clients.
Promote approaches that recognize the strengths, experiences, priorities, and goals of the individuals and communities served.
Support staff in addressing barriers to care and connecting clients with appropriate health and social service resources.
Serve as a key member of the Downtown Public Health Center leadership team and contribute to overall site planning, operations, and decision-making.
Partner with the Area Manager and other supervisors to coordinate staffing, workflows, space, resources, and service delivery across the site.
Participate in center-wide initiatives, emergency preparedness, safety planning, quality improvement, and organizational change efforts.
May provide overall center leadership and operational oversight during the Area Manager's absence.
Represent Downtown Public Health Center and Public Health – Seattle & King County in internal and external meetings and collaborative initiatives as appropriate.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or a master's degree in nursing science or a graduate level nursing degree of MSN, DNP or PhD from an accredited school of nursing
- Washington State Registered Nurse License in good standing
- Washington State Drivers' License in good standing
- Current BLS-CPR for Healthcare Providers
- Experience in maternal and child health, pediatric care coordination, public health, or community-based health programs.
- Demonstrated experience supervising or leading staff in a healthcare, social service, or public health setting.
Work Schedule: This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), Career Service position with benefits. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with travel to multiple service sites. This position is exempt and not eligible for overtime. Some schedule flexibility may be required to meet operational needs.
Work Location: Downtown Public Health Center, 2124 4th Avenue, Seattle, WA 98121. However, travel will be required to other sites throughout King County.
