Description
At BridgeFit, we hire people who love helping others. Right now, we’re looking for someone who also loves helping other coaches get better. You’ll need to already be certified (more on that below), but past that, I care more about who you are than your résumé.
About BridgeFit
We’re a personal training gym for adults 40+ in Overland Park, offering small-group and 1-on-1 training. We’ve been voted Best Personal Training in Johnson County four years running, with 100+ five-star reviews and Best Gym 2026. That comes from a coaching team that takes the work seriously and keeps improving.
We’re not a “who’s the best” type of gym. No yelling, no egos. We pride ourselves on detailed coaching, and we meet people where they’re at. Members and coaches know each other by name, and our team works the same way.
The role
We’re growing, and our Director of Training needs a right hand. The Assistant Director of Training helps lead our coaching team while still coaching on the floor.
You’ll:
- Help our Director of Training support and develop the coaching team
- Run consultations with new members and help them find the right starting point
- Coach small-group and 1-on-1 strength training sessions for adults 40+
- Lead new members through their intro sessions and flexibility assessment
- Build and update each member’s personal plan as their goals, aches, and pains change
Also hiring: Personal Trainers
Not quite ready to lead a team? We’re also hiring full-time coaches. Same team, same perks, same path to grow. Apply here and let us know which role you’re interested in.
Why work at BridgeFit
- Competitive pay. Assistant Director: $27 to $33 an hour. Personal Trainer: $25 to $33 an hour. Full-time is 35 to 40 hours a week, including paid hours for prep, programming, and meetings.
- Paid prep time. Most gyms only pay when a client is in front of you. We pay for the work that makes sessions great.
- No quotas or commission. Consultations are about finding the right fit for each new member, not pushing packages.
- A schedule you can plan your life around. Five days a week, with more available if you want it. Same schedule every week. No doubles, no split shifts, no last-minute changes.
- Paid time off for team members who are here for the long term.
- Professional development. Structured onboarding, a proven coaching system, $500 a year toward continuing education, and expert speakers we bring in.
- Room to grow. Our Director of Training started as an intern. As we grow, so can you.
- A supportive team. We work together and hold each other to a high standard.
Who we’re looking for
The right person:
- Puts people first
- Brings consistent, positive energy to every session
- Communicates well with adults of all ages, especially 40+
- Enjoys working with people who are new to exercise or starting over
- Is certified (NASM, ACE, ISSA, or similar) and CPR/AED certified (required)
For the Assistant Director role, we’re also looking for someone who:
- Has coached for a while and wants to help other coaches get better
- Is comfortable leading conversations with new members
- Holds a high standard and helps others hit it, without ego
- Has some sales or consultation experience (nice to have, not required)
I read every application personally.
