Requirements

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Recreation Specialist to join our team. As a Recreation Specialist, you will play a key role in developing and implementing recreational programs and activities that enhance the well-being and quality of life for our community members. The ideal candidate will be creative, energetic, and committed to promoting a positive and inclusive environment. 

Responsibilities: 

• Program Development: 
• Plan, organize, and implement a variety of recreational programs for diverse age groups. 
• Develop engaging and innovative activities that align with the interests and needs of the community. 
• Community Engagement: 
• Foster positive relationships with community members and stakeholders. 
• Collaborate with local organizations and businesses to enhance program offerings. 
• Event Coordination: 
• Coordinate and oversee special events, tournaments, and recreational outings. 
• Manage logistics, including scheduling, permits, and equipment. 
• Inclusivity and Accessibility: 
• Ensure programs are inclusive and accessible to individuals of all abilities. 
• Adapt activities to meet the diverse needs of the community. 
• Evaluation and Reporting: 
• Collect and analyze data on program participation and effectiveness. 
• Prepare regular reports for management, identifying areas for improvement and success stories. 

Qualifications: 

• Two (2) years of experience in Physical Education/Recreation, or a related field. 
• Red Cross certified in first aid and CPR (both must remain current). 
• Knowledge of rules and regulations covering a variety of recreational sports. 
• Strong organizational and communication skills. 
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. 
• Knowledge of safety regulations and risk management practices in recreational settings. 

Compensation and Benefits:

Competitive Pay, PTO, Health Benefits

This position pays a base hourly rate of $26.72 per hour, plus an additional Health & Welfare (H&W) benefit, in accordance with the applicable Service Contract Act (SCA) requirements.
