Lead a team. Support youth. Help shape what comes next.

Salary up to $70,000 | $3,000 new hire bonus | 35-hour workweek

Join Hope For Youth's Adolescent Diagnostic and Respite Services Program and make a meaningful difference for young people on Long Island. This position offers a $3,000 new hire bonus: $1,000 at the start of employment and $2,000 upon successful completion of the introductory period.

About the Program

Hope For Youth's Residential Services Department provides community-based, trauma-informed care to adolescents and young adults in Nassau and Suffolk counties. Our multidisciplinary teams support youth and families involved with child welfare, juvenile justice, and runaway and homeless youth services.

Our Adolescent Diagnostic and Respite Services Program, known as "Diagnostic," provides respite, emergency, and diagnostic services for up to 12 youth, ages 12–20, of all genders. Referrals come through Nassau and Suffolk Departments of Social Services, Probation, and the Crisis Bed Network.

About the Role

The Program Manager oversees case management, aftercare services, psychosocial assessments, and diagnostic evaluations while supporting the program's daily operations. You will directly supervise the Assistant Program Manager, Case Worker, and Case Worker Assistant, providing the guidance and support they need to serve youth effectively.

This is a full-time position with a 35-hour workweek. Some remote work and schedule flexibility may be available under agency policy, subject to program needs, successful completion of the introductory period, and continued good standing.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee daily program operations in accordance with agency policies, program procedures, and applicable licensing and accreditation requirements.

  • Manage casework and complete timely reports, case documentation, psychosocial assessments, and diagnostic evaluations.

  • Coordinate with Departments of Social Services, schools, families, and other service providers.

  • Provide crisis intervention and counseling as needed.

  • Supervise, coach, and support staff.

  • Develop discharge plans and provide six months of aftercare services.

  • Conduct home visits as needed.

  • Support other residential locations and agency projects as assigned.

  • Perform other related duties necessary to meet program and agency needs.

How You'll Generally Spend Your Time

  • 50%: Casework, documentation, and reports

  • 20%: Direct support to youth

  • 20%: Staff support and guidance

  • 10%: Meetings, supervision, and training

What You'll Bring

  • LMSW required; LCSW preferred.

  • At least two years of post-master's experience with child-serving systems, such as child welfare or juvenile justice.

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and reporting portals.

  • A valid New York State driver's license in good standing.

  • Access to a reliable vehicle; mileage reimbursement is available.

  • Availability for 24/7 on-call coverage during the week and participation in a weekend on-call rotation.

Required licenses and qualifications must be maintained throughout employment.

Physical Requirements

The role involves the following activities, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Transporting and accompanying youth in the community, including stairs.

  • Lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.

  • Walking, standing, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, and reaching overhead.

  • Repetitive hand and finger movements associated with computer and office work.

  • Preparing and reviewing written and electronic reports, logs, and other documentation.
