The Research Fellow will conduct independent and collaborative biomedical research focused on adipose tissue biology, thermoregulation, and metabolic disease. The role integrates advanced molecular and cellular biology methods, in vivo mouse-based research, and computational analysis of omics data. The Research Fellow will design studies, develop and validate experimental and analytical pipelines, interpret results, communicate findings through manuscripts and presentations, and contribute to grant-related scientific writing and reporting.Job Description:
(1) Experimental and study design, execution, and troubleshooting: Design, execute, and troubleshoot experiments investigating thermogenic adipose tissue cell states and function in mouse and human systems; develop and optimize molecular and cellular assays supporting adipocyte differentiation and function studies; and maintain rigorous protocols, lab records, and reproducible documentation to ensure high data quality and institutional compliance.
(2) In vivo and ex vivo research in mouse models: Plan and conduct mouse-based studies relevant to adipose biology and thermoregulation, coordinate interventions and tissue/sample collection, manage downstream tissue processing and data generation in collaboration with core facilities, and ensure appropriate training, compliance, and recordkeeping for animal research activities.
(3) Scientific communication, grant support, and collaboration: Prepare figures, reports, manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations for internal and external audiences; contribute to grant and fellowship applications through scientific writing and data summaries; and present findings and participate in collaborative scholarly activities, including lab meetings, journal clubs, and data discussions.
