Early Intervention Service Coordination Director

The EI Service Coordination Director performs senior level work of an independent, supervisory and administrative nature. Responsibilities involve the day-to-day operations of the Early Intervention Service Coordination Office providing service to eligible children and families, provide direct supervision and completes performance evaluations for 3 Casework Supervisors, 24 EI service coordinators and 3 clerical staff. The EI SC Director is responsible to assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to all County, State and Federal requirements and mandates. Knowledge and understanding of County, State and
Federal laws are imperative. 

• Provides direct individual supervision to Casework Supervisors. Provides regularly scheduled group supervision to 24 service coordinators for ongoing work performance to ensure relevant policies and procedures are being reviewed and implemented.
• Training is provided individually and, in a group, to promote the development of the service coordinators and expand their knowledge of the Early Intervention service system as per County, State and Federal regulations, policy and procedures.
• The EI SC Director is responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of an internal training plan.
• Ensures that waiver information for each waiver-funded eligible child is complete, accurate and in compliance with State announcements. Providing effective oversight results in Waiver compliance and successful audits and ensures participation of Federal funds to support the Early Intervention system.
• Interface with providers to resolve problems and concerns regarding individual/family service delivery or procedural issues.
• Responsible for providing informational presentations to community and provider groups.
• Collaboration with other Health & Human Services Service Systems to better coordinate and maximize services for infants & toddlers and their families.
• Participate in Administrative Meeting and/or Due Process Hearings to address families formal complaints. 
• The EI Director is responsible for monitoring the activities to assure that the Individual Family Service Plans are complete according to the State regulations. Quarterly review of case files assures required documentation of timely assessment of needs, services implementation and that follow through and monitoring of services are complete according to State regulations and county policy and procedures.

MUST MEET ONE OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

• Bachelor’s degree which includes 12 college credits in early intervention, early childhood, special education, early childhood education, child development, special education, family counseling, family studies, social welfare, psychology or other comparable social sciences; and
• Three years of professional level experience in the Early Intervention system and one year in a supervisory capacity; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
