Job Description:
The Senior Manager, AR Billing and Collections will be based in Hyderabad, India. In this position, you will report to the MEIAT Controller. The Senior Manager, Accounts Receivable Billing and Collections is responsible for overseeing project accounting activities for U.S. and international operations, ensuring accurate revenue recognition, project financial reporting, cash flow forecasting, and compliance with corporate accounting policies. This role partners closely with Project Management, Sales, Operations, Shared Services, and Executive Leadership to support global projects, manage multinational reporting, and maintain strong internal controls. The ideal candidate will bring strong project accounting expertise, advanced analytical capability, ERP experience, and the ability to translate complex contracts and operational data into actionable insights for business leaders.

Here is a glimpse of what you will do:
Project Accounting, Collections Management, Cash flow forecast and performance metrics
- Lead project accounting activities for U.S. and international projects, including invoicing, project reconciliations, revenue validation, and customer billing support.
- Partner with Project Managers to ensure project financial performance, contract compliance, and accurate revenue recognition.
- Consolidate and analyze global accounts receivable forecasts across multiple international subsidiaries.
- Prepare and monitor global cash flow forecasts, partnering with Operations and Sales to ensure forecast accuracy and achievement of financial commitments.
- Oversee and mentor the Project Accounting team by reviewing work, providing technical guidance, and supporting professional development.
- Prepare and present consolidated financial reports and project performance metrics to executive leadership on a regular basis.
- Analyze balance sheet and income statement fluctuations and provide meaningful business insights to management.
- Support financial analysis of domestic and international projects, including profitability, compliance, and financial risk assessments.
- Coordinate with regional finance teams and external accounting service providers to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Support internal and external audits, including SOX compliance, documentation, and maintenance of internal controls.
- Develop and deliver training on accounting policies, financial systems, internal controls, and corporate procedures for global finance teams.
- Drive continuous process improvements and standardization across global project accounting and reporting functions.
People and Team Leadership
- Supervise, coach, and develop Project accounting team members, ensuring accountability, accuracy, technical excellence, and professional growth.
- Establish clear expectations, review work product, provide feedback, and promote a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate effectively across FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Procurement, IT, and Corporate Accounting.
- Serve as a trusted finance partner to operational leaders by providing timely, accurate, and actionable financial insights.
- Promote strong communication, cross-functional collaboration, and disciplined execution across local and global teams.
Here is some of what you will need (required):
- CA/CPA/MBA, or equivalent professional qualification strongly preferred.
- (12-15) years of progressive experience in Project accounting, inventory accounting, Accounts Receivable, Collections management.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including ASC 606 revenue recognition and percentage-of-completion accounting.
- Experience managing multinational accounting operations, multi-currency reporting, consolidations, and intercompany transactions.
- Previous public accounting or external audit experience preferred (Big Four experience is a plus).
- Experience with Oracle Fusion, NetSuite, Salesforce (SFDC), Jira, Confluence, Workday, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Proven ability to read, interpret, and analyze complex commercial contracts.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across global teams.
- Strong understanding of month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, internal controls, audit support, and financial reporting requirements.
- Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills, with the ability to work with large datasets and translate data into meaningful business insights.
- Strong ERP experience required; experience with Oracle, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems preferred.
- Demonstrated experience supporting ERP implementations, system enhancements, reporting automation, or finance transformation initiatives.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, data modeling, scenario analysis, and large-volume data analysis.
- Experience with BI, analytics, and automation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, or similar platforms preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex cost accounting and financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
- Experience managing, mentoring, and developing accounting or finance staff.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, or manufacturing process improvement methodologies is a plus
- Flexible to work in US time zone.
