Description
The Mental Health Association is seeking a Program Director for our Center for Behavioral Health and Riskin Children's Center programs, operating out of our Montclair office.
Center for Behavioral Health (CBH) provides individual counseling to treat anxiety, depression, traumatic stress reactions, bipolar disorder, bereavement, and adjustment disorders, stress related health problems, and much more. Psychiatric services including evaluation, consultation, and ongoing medication management are also available for clients.
The Riskin Children’s Center (RCC) provides comprehensive, accessible, and culturally appropriate mental health services for children and teens ages 6-18. We provide strength-based individual and family counseling to treat depression, anxiety, grief and loss, post-traumatic stress disorder, oppositional behaviors, and difficulties with attention, behavior, or peer relationships. RCC also provides psychoeducational groups and a full range of psychiatric services including evaluation, consultation, and ongoing medication management as a complement to psychotherapy services.
Qualifications:
- A Master’s Degree in a mental health discipline and a professional license are required, LCSW is preferred.
- Must also have at least five years of experience in mental health services and two years of supervisory experience.
- Leadership and team-building skills to inspire staff energy and creativity and develop a milieu of mutual respect and teamwork.
- The ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays to provide 24 hour/crisis availability.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall daily operations of CBH and RCC including clinical, marketing and financial operations.
- The hiring of staff and direct supervision of performance outcomes.
- Provide clinical supervision to all non-fully licensed staff including LSWs/LACs/interns.
- Oversee and monitor billing procedures for Medicaid, Medicare, MCOs, and all other insurance providers as well as maintaining an acute awareness of payment status of claims.
- In consult with the Medical Director, Psychiatrists and/or Advance Nurse Practitioners, oversee and monitor the department’s clinical staff in providing individual, group and family treatment.
- Monitors compliance of cultural competence, recovery-orientated services, and evidenced based practices.
- Provide direct clinical services which include clinical intake and assessment, and treatment.
- Develop and implement performance improvement measures and monitor outcomes for CBH and RCC programs. Oversee utilization reviews and quality assurance activities.
- Maintenance and analysis of statistical information and reports to State of New Jersey oversight organizations.
- Monitor and review documentation in the electronic clinical record to verify compliance and accuracy.
- Ensure license and accreditation obligations for CN&L, CARF, and other regulatory bodies.
- Administrative oversight of Part-time psychiatrists/APN.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Sr. Director of Clinical Services.

Annual Base Range: $90K - $95K
