The hourly rate for this position is $22.15 - $37.50 per hour.

The Software Quality Assurance Engineering Intern is an integral member of a multidisciplinary engineering team at Eaton’s Plymouth, MN facility. In this role, you will help ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of software solutions that support our smart grid and power distribution solutions. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will gain hands-on experience in software testing, test automation, defect analysis, and quality engineering practices.

You will collaborate with software quality engineers, software developers, and product teams to validate software functionality, develop automated test solutions, investigate defects, and support the delivery of high-quality software products. You will also gain exposure to AI-powered tools and learn how emerging technologies are transforming software testing, automation, and quality engineering processes.

This internship offers an opportunity to develop both traditional quality assurance skills and modern AI-assisted testing capabilities while contributing to innovative software solutions.

## In this role, you will:

• Collaborate with software quality engineers, software developers, and product teams to understand requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria, ensuring comprehensive test coverage throughout the development lifecycle.
• Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases to validate software functionality, performance, reliability, and usability for smart grid and power distribution solutions.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test frameworks and test cases to improve testing efficiency, repeatability, and overall product quality.
• Investigate, document, and verify software defects, perform root cause analysis, and partner with scrum team to ensure timely resolution of issues.
• Support software verification and validation activities, including integration testing, regression testing, system testing, and participation in CI/CD processes.
• Utilize AI-powered tools and emerging technologies to enhance software testing, test automation, defect analysis, data analysis, and quality engineering practices.
• Analyze test results and quality metrics, participate in reviews and quality-focused engineering activities, and contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality software products.

## Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• Actively enrolled in or received a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science at an accredited institution with a graduation date no earlier than December 2027.
• Minimum GPA of 2.8 or above.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior internship or co-op experience.
• Junior or higher standing.
• Minimum GPA of 3.2 or above.
• Working knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts and development using Java, .NET/C# or similar coding language.
• Familiarity with Agile Scrum concepts (or other iterative development methodology).
• Familiarity with using SDLC management tools in a team environment.
