PURPOSE OF THE JOB

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leads enterprise data governance support.

• Leads the development and maintenance of metadata repositories and management systems (data catalog).
• Performs advanced non-technical tool configuration within the Data Catalog, including complex Catalog UI, Templates, Terms/Glossaries, and Data Asset Curation.
• Oversees documentation of data assets and their relationships in the data catalog.
• Creates, enforces, and updates metadata standards and policies in the data catalog.
• Leads collaboration efforts with teams to capture and maintain accurate metadata.
• Implements and optimizes metadata governance processes.
• Develops and delivers comprehensive training on metadata management best practices.
• Oversees creation and maintenance of data quality documentation.
• Establishes and maintains data governance metrics.
• Collaborates with data owners and stewards to manage data definitions, quality, and usage.
• Drives the use of insurance industry and ICW specific nomenclature/naming standards within all data assets including, but not limited to reports, meta data articles, and project documentation.

Provides data quality issue management and remediation.

• Collaborates with team members throughout business and technical departments to document data quality issues.
• Develops and implements data quality standards, data protection standards and adoption requirements across the enterprise.
• Works with business partners to gather and understand functional requirements, develops queries and provides reports.
• Ensures that a backlog of issues is consistently refined and updated for agile consumption.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university required in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 4-7 years of experience in data governance, metadata management, or related field required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional-Practitioner or Master), Certified Data Governance & Stewardship Professional (DGSP) from ICCP (Institute for Certification of Computing Professionals), or other Data Governance Certification (DGQP) preferred.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Advanced SQL experience, including performance tuning and complex queries.
• Extensive experience with SaaS platforms.
• Proven track record in implementing and managing data catalog and metadata management systems.
• Familiarity with spreadsheet tools (e.g., Excel) for data manipulation.
• Knowledge of insurance industry preferred.
• Strong analytical and time management skills.
• Must be organized, detail oriented, and able to multi-task.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in leading small to medium-sized projects or teams.
• Team-oriented focus; ability to conduct effective meetings with business and project teams.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

Office environment – no specific or unusual physical or environmental demands and employees are regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, and hear.

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

This position operates in an office environment and requires the frequent use of a computer, telephone, copier, and other standard office equipment.

The current range for this position is

$95,378.98 - $160,850.17

This range is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. If hired at ICW Group, your final base salary compensation will be determined by factors unique to each candidate, including experience, education and the location of the role and considers employees performing substantially similar work.
