What You'll Do
The Sales Desk Manager is responsible for driving the dealership's sales performance by managing deal structure, desking transactions, coaching sales consultants, and ensuring profitability while delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role serves as a key leader within the sales department, partnering closely with the General Sales Manager, Finance & Insurance team, and sales staff to maximize vehicle sales, gross profit, and customer satisfaction.
- Desk and structure new and pre-owned vehicle deals to achieve sales and profitability objectives.
- Work directly with customers when needed to assist sales consultants in closing vehicle sales.
- Review and approve all sales transactions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and profitability.
- Partner with Finance & Insurance Managers to maximize product penetration and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor and manage daily sales activity, lead performance, appointments, and showroom traffic.
- Coach, mentor, and develop sales consultants to improve closing ratios, gross profit, and customer experience scores.
- Ensure all CRM activities, prospect follow-up, and customer communications are completed effectively.
- Analyze market conditions, inventory levels, and pricing strategies to remain competitive.
- Collaborate with leadership on inventory management, aging units, and sales forecasts.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training new sales team members.
- Maintain compliance with all dealership, OEM, state, and federal regulations.
- Support achievement of departmental goals related to volume, gross profit, penetration rates, and customer satisfaction.
- All other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years of automotive sales management experience in an OEM franchise dealership.
- Proven success desking deals and driving profitable sales performance.
- Strong understanding of retail and lease transactions, lender guidelines, and F&I processes.
- Experience leading, coaching, and developing sales professionals.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, dealership management systems (DMS), and digital retailing tools.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer-facing skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record in your state of residence.
Total Rewards
$130,000 - $175,000/ Per Year; This is a performance based position eligible for a base/hourly offset with opportunities to earn commission and bonus.
Actual pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and physical location. Final compensation will be established through the interview process in accordance with applicable pay equity and transparency laws.
