Role summary:Walmart is seeking a Senior Technician, Facility Services, HVAC/Refrigeration, to oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems across commercial and industrial facilities. This role leads diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and compliance with safety and environmental standards while managing field teams and vendor relationships. The position requires coordinating service calls, supporting business-critical needs, and delivering technical training. The Senior Technician will also contribute to process improvements and special projects, ensuring operational efficiency and equipment reliability in alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements.

What you'll do:
- Oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of HVAC/R systems, including refrigeration units and building pneumatics.
- Lead diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues to ensure optimal system performance.
- Implement and monitor preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment life and minimize downtime.
- Manage refrigerant handling, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and HVAC/R codes.
- Coordinate and mentor field teams, providing hands-on training and evaluating skill development.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including work orders, maintenance logs, and compliance records.
- Support on-call rotations to address urgent service needs promptly.
- Manage parts inventory, vendor relationships, and service scheduling to meet business priorities.
What you'll bring:
- Proven expertise in installation, commissioning, and maintenance of HVAC/R systems, including refrigeration units and building pneumatics.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in commercial and industrial environments.
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA refrigerant handling protocols, and compliance with federal, state, and local HVAC/R codes.
- Experience leading field teams, mentoring, and managing escalated service issues effectively.
- Ability to manage parts inventory, vendor relationships, and coordinate service calls to meet business priorities.
- Proficient in documenting work orders, maintenance logs, and submitting accurate reports.
- Skilled in operating company vehicles safely.

The hourly wage range for this position is $35.00 - $70.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...
Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.
Option 1: 3 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration.Option 2: 6 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area or 2 years’ Walmart store experience.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

Completion of a 2-year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or 2-year associate’s of applied science A/C and refrigeration., Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)., Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams., Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment., Prior work experience with Glycol and C02 systems.
