Role: Client Manager
Location: Scarborough
Salary: Up to £45,000 depending on experience
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Client Manager to join a growing accountancy practice with a strong reputation for providing a personal, client-focused service.
The practice is continuing to grow, with new clients regularly joining through recommendations and referrals. They are now looking for someone who can take ownership of their own workload and clients, build strong relationships and play an important role in supporting the continued growth of the business.

Responsibilities of the Practice Accountant / Client Manager job include:
• Managing your own portfolio of clients and acting as a key point of contact
• Preparing and reviewing accounts for a range of clients
• Completing personal and business tax work
• Managing VAT and bookkeeping requirements
• Taking responsibility for work from initial preparation through to completion
• Reviewing work and ensuring deadlines are met
• Building and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships
• Attending client meetings where required
• Supporting clients with cloud accounting systems, including Xero
• Assisting clients with Making Tax Digital requirements
Requirements of the Practice Accountant / Client Manager job include:
• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
• Strong accounts and tax knowledge
• Ability to manage work independently and take ownership of deadlines
• Confident dealing directly with clients
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A proactive approach with the ability to think for yourself and identify what needs doing
• Good commercial awareness and common sense
• Comfortable working across a varied general practice workload
• AAT, ACA, ACCA or equivalent experience would be beneficial, although candidates qualified by experience will also be considered
The key requirement is someone who can hit the ground running, take responsibility for their clients and become a trusted member of the team. The role can be shaped around the successful candidate's experience, whether that is primarily client management, technical accounts and tax work, or a combination of this with wider office responsibilities.
