Revenue Cycle Management Transformation Senior Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The RCM Transformation Senior Manager provides specialized depth and breadth of operational expertise across front, middle, and back-office Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) functions—including coding, charge capture/charge integrity, hospital and professional billing, cash posting, denials management, and accounts receivable follow-up. Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance Transformation, with a dotted-line relationship to the Executive Director of Revenue Cycle Transformation, this role serves as an internal subject matter expert for assigned RCM transformation initiatives / projects. Working independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations, the Senior Manager validates and stress-tests design recommendations against real-world operational conditions to ensure redesign decisions are practical, sustainable, and tailored to BMCHS's environment.

The RCM Transformation Senior Manager leads assigned workstreams and projects with moderate resources requirements, risk, and complexity within the RCM operating model redesign and helps build the financial case supporting the program's cost-to-collect and net revenue targets. This role's impact is realized through the successful redesign and stabilization of RCM operations over a multi-year horizon, positioning BMCHS for sustained financial and operational performance.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

• Serve as RCM subject-matter expert. Serves as the revenue cycle operations subject-matter expert on assigned transformation workstreams, applying specialized knowledge of back- and middle-office RCM functions—including coding, charge capture, hospital and professional billing, cash posting, denials management, and AR follow-up—to validate current-state findings, stress-test recommendations, and ensure design decisions are operationally credible.
• Support target operating model design Partners day-to-day with internal stakeholders and external consulting resources to benchmark current-state cost-to-collect and net revenue yield against industry standards, and to co-design the future-state target operating model, process workflows, and organizational structure for in-scope RCM functions.
• Lead assigned transformation workstreams. Leads assigned RCM transformation workstreams of moderate complexity from current-state diagnostics through future-state design, pilot testing, and go-live, directing the day-to-day work of consulting resources and cross-functional contributors on an initiative basis without formal supervisory authority.
• Build and maintain workstream financial models. Builds and maintains the financial and quantitative models to evaluate workstream impact, tracks benefit realization against the program's cost-to-collect reduction and net revenue uplift targets. Monitors operational metrics, identifies variances and recommends corrective actions to leadership.
• Evaluate vendor and technology options. Evaluates outsourcing, managed-services, and technology/automation options (including AI and RPA) for in-scope back- and middle-office RCM functions, and contributes RCM subject-matter expertise to vendor selection and contracting discussions.
• Drive change management and stakeholder alignment. Leads change management and stakeholder alignment across RCM operations, revenue cycle leadership, and Finance, translating recommendations into practical guidance for the operational teams affected by the redesign; leverages deep subject matter expertise to resolve operational conflicts and build consensus across RCM
• Report progress to leadership. Prepares and presents progress updates, risk assessments, and analytical summaries on assigned workstreams to Finance and Revenue Cycle Transformation leadership and other stakeholders.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, healthcare administration, or a related field; and 8+ years of experience in revenue cycle operations, healthcare finance, or healthcare-focused strategy consulting, including hands-on experience in one or more back- or middle-office RCM functions (e.g., coding, billing, denials management, cash posting, or AR follow-up);or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• MBA, MHA, or other advanced degree; experience leading RCM transformation initiatives delivered in partnership with external consulting firms, including outsourcing/managed-services evaluation or AI/automation adoption; experience with Epic revenue cycle modules and reporting tools (e.g., Resolute HB/PB, Slicer Dicer, Cogito).

• CRCR (Certified Revenue Cycle Representative), CHFP, or similar revenue cycle/healthcare finance certification.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSAs):

• Deep working knowledge of back- and middle-office revenue cycle functions—including coding, charge capture, hospital and professional billing, cash posting, denials management, and AR follow-up—and how they interact to drive cost to collect and net revenue.
• Ability to partner effectively with external consulting teams, translating consulting frameworks and recommendations into operationally credible process and organizational designs.
• Skill in building and interpreting financial models that quantify cost-to-collect and net revenue impact, and in tracking benefit realization against defined program targets.
• Working knowledge of Epic revenue cycle modules and reporting tools sufficient to independently validate underlying data and findings.
• Ability to operate independently and with sound judgment in ambiguous, fast-paced transformation environments, and to lead workstreams without formal authority over the teams involved.
• Ability to build credibility and influence revenue cycle operations leaders and staff who are not direct reports, and strong written and oral communication skills sufficient to present complex findings to Finance and Revenue Cycle leadership.
• Ability to apply structured project management methodology to plan, execute, and track complex, multi-workstream initiatives.

Compensation Range:

$97,500.00- $141,500.00
