This is a remote U.S.-based position. Preference will be given to candidates in the greater Nashville, TN area. Relocation assistance and visa sponsorship are not available.

What You'll Do

  • Define and execute SCRI's revenue cycle strategy across SMO and CRO operations, aligning departmental goals with enterprise financial objectives.

  • Prioritize resources, technology investments, and process improvement initiatives that improve compliance, cash flow, profitability, and operational efficiency.

  • Establish and maintain scalable processes, controls, and documentation that optimize revenue cycle performance and billing compliance.

  • Ensure compliance with clinical research billing requirements, coverage analyses, contract terms, accounting standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Partner with Finance, Operations, Legal, and Executive Leadership to evaluate financial performance across studies, sponsors, projects, and business units, and drive resulting action plans.

  • Lead monthly operating reviews and executive reporting on key metrics, including accounts receivable, days sales outstanding (DSO), unbilled revenue, aged balances, write-offs, and cycle times.

  • Serve as a strategic advisor on revenue cycle best practices, operational improvements, and growth initiatives.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications for Success

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree strongly preferred.

  • Minimum 1 year of Director-level experience with direct people leadership responsibilities.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in revenue cycle, receivables, finance, or a related discipline, including at least 3 years within healthcare or clinical research.

  • Seven or more years of progressive leadership experience preferred, including experience leading managers and/or directors.

  • Clinical research industry experience strongly preferred, particularly within both SMO and CRO environments.

  • Working knowledge of clinical trial budgets, site contracts, coverage analysis, Medicare Clinical Trial Policy, and research billing compliance requirements preferred.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial systems, reporting, and revenue cycle operations.

  • Knowledge of emerging trends in clinical research, healthcare finance, and revenue cycle management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CRCR, HFMA, CPA, or similar healthcare finance or research administration credential preferred.

  • Proven ability to build, develop, and lead high-performing teams while driving accountability and results.

  • Strong prioritization and execution skills in a complex, fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

  • Demonstrated negotiation, influencing, and relationship-building capabilities with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Advanced analytical skills, including experience developing data models, dashboards, and performance metrics to drive decision-making.

Why You'll Succeed

You are a strategic, data-driven leader who excels at building high-performing teams, optimizing complex processes, and delivering measurable financial results.
