Description
• Synthesizes complex information into clear, concise, engaging content
• Collaborates with members of the city’s 20+ departments to develop creative strategies to convey information, initiatives, programs, etc.
• Oversees bi-weekly e-newsletter and drafts dedicated resident emails regarding events, projects or emergencies
• Researches market trends and implements innovative ideas to the city’s digital strategy
• Pitches and executes creative ideas for marketing campaigns to promote city initiatives
• Produces digital media content such as videos and graphics for various platforms
• Populates and manages detailed post calendars to keep track of events and share timely information regarding city initiatives
• Collaborates with the graphic design and video production teams to create specific assets for various citywide campaigns across different channels
• Regularly reviews analytics and creates reports on key metrics
• Keeps abreast of city legislation and Commission/Committee meetings
• Understands audience across various channels and maintains a cohesive brand voice
• Works closely with the Miami Beach Police and Fire Departments during high impact periods, such as spring break, Memorial Day weekend, Art Week, and hurricane season
• Serves as an integral part of the city's crisis communications team, working closely with the Division of Emergency Management and all city departments
• Disseminates key emergency information to residents via digital communications channels, including MBAlert text messages
•Attends citywide events to create content and post in real-time, this includes evenings and weekends
•Produces and posts strategic content to continually grow digital audiences, effectively engage with current audience and expand reach.
• Acts as a digital liaison for the city and interacts with social media users by responding to messages, inquiries and comments
• Proactively monitors social media coverage/conversations and reports back on trends, issues and/or areas of opportunity
• Manages the city's homepage, news and events sections and proofreads/approves content from various departments before going live to the public
• Pitches creative ideas to promote city initiatives
• Works closely with the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau and its agency of record to implement tourism marketing campaigns
• Supervises the department’s Digital Media Public Information Specialist
• Writes scripts for public service announcements and/or campaigns
• Conducts interviews and records on-camera and voice over work for videos
• Collaborates with community partners and brands to promote events and campaigns
•Facilitates social media brand collaborations and promotional giveaways
•Supports city departments with proofreading and editing collateral, making sure overall branding is consistent
•Keeps meticulous files on monthly work products and any reports generated• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field preferred
• Five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience
• Must submit writing samples and portfolio of previous social content created.
