Step into a role where strategy meets execution. At Constant Contact, we are looking for an Engineering Manager to anchor our Australian software development team. This isn’t just about oversight; it’s about impact. As a senior technical leader, you’ll be a true player/coach—mentoring our engineers, applying cutting-edge Domain-Driven Design, and staying connected to the complex technical challenges that drive our business.
You’ll be the bridge between our global strategy and local execution, working cross-functionally with product, sales, and marketing to deliver at speed. **This is a hybrid position based out of our Brisbane, AUS office
What You’ll Do:
- Drive Agile principles and a high performing team
- Balance the demands of people management and technical delivery—successfully shifting between supporting team growth and complex technical troubleshooting as the business requires
- Ensure the platform and the business as a whole retains its compliance and certifications
- Oversee and manage improvements in system administration & network engineering, software / system architecture, and the virtualisation & database platforms
- Oversee functional and technical specifications as required for project work in conjunction with BA/Scrum Master
- Review and oversee the currency and maintenance of security systems (ISMS), code, policies & processes
- Manage the execution and reporting of periodic security, redundancy and DR test programs
- Review and oversee the upgrading and maintenance of the company’s tech stack, dev infrastructure and QA environments
- Apply initiative, integrity, domain knowledge, verbal agility, and diplomacy to achieve the business’ outcomes.
- Mentor and grow passionate individuals who work well in strong teams
- Provide high level strategic input across company as required
- High level/complex support investigations, fixes as required.
Who You Are:
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience leading development teams in a SaaS environment
- A proven self-starter with an exceptional understanding of software development tools & processes
- Experience working in an agile team environment and holding the team accountable to milestones and outcomes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong troubleshooting skills and creative problem-solving ability
- Demonstrated ability to balance system stability, performance, and technical debt against fast-paced product roadmaps.
- Demonstrated experience applying Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles to design modular, scalable SaaS architectures with clear boundary lines and low cross-team coupling
- Degree in Computer Science / Engineering (or related)
- Strong fundamental skills working with cloud computing (AWS), networking and physical hardware
- Good understanding of Information Security requirements and compliance (eg. ISO 27001 and SOC2) within a SaaS business.
- Comfortable working across international teams
