Tiger Brands King Foods is seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Fitter & Turner to join our dynamic Engineering team at our Potchefstroom plant. This role plays a vital part in ensuring plant availability, cost-effectiveness, safety compliance, and consistent product quality. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of mechanical systems and equipment across the plant.WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist technical support to shift-based teams during operations.
- Assist as a functional expert in problem-solving when requested.
- Carry out running repairs on plant equipment as required during shifts.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimize downtime.
- Participate actively in maintenance planning meetings, providing input, clarifying work requirements, and scheduling tasks.
- Execute planned maintenance and contribute to developing and improving maintenance programs.
- Always operate safely and in compliance with plant and legal requirements.
- Proactively identify unsafe conditions or work practices and escalate for correction.
- Ensure all maintenance work is performed in a way that supports plant safety and hygiene standards.
- Carry out maintenance tasks to maximize plant availability and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Contribute to meeting or exceeding set OEE targets.
- Complete required maintenance reports, logs, and administrative tasks to support engineering and production performance.
- Identify recurring mechanical failures and recommend corrective actions.

Qualification and experience:
- Education: Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematics and Science/ N3 Technical Qualification.
- Trade: Fitter (Trade Tested).
- Experience: 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within the manufacturing, mining, oil & gas, or power generation industries
