Position Summary:
DriveWhip is reinventing car access for rideshare drivers, providing reliable, well-maintained rental vehicles that empower gig workers to hit the road and start earning fast. We are seeking a proactive, people-first Sales Manager to lead our driver onboarding and sales outreach team.
This role combines hands-on sales and account management responsibilities — serving as a key point of contact for newly approved drivers — with team leadership, workflow oversight, and performance management. The Sales Manager will actively support the driver conversion pipeline (outreach, onboarding, and pickup coordination) while ensuring the broader team meets daily production goals, quality standards, and turnaround expectations.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and closer who is also highly organized, analytical, and comfortable leading a team within a fast-paced startup environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to the following):
Driver Sales, Onboarding & Outreach
- Call, text, and email newly approved drivers to schedule vehicle pickups and drive conversion
- Conduct introductory calls to explain DriveWhip benefits and guide drivers through next steps
- Assist drivers in completing credit card authorization forms and submitting deposits
- Send and manage weekly rental invoices and upfront deposit payments
- Follow up with inactive and unbooked leads to maximize approved-driver conversion rate
Appointment & Pickup Coordination
- Schedule vehicle pickups, including assigning VINs and confirming logistics
- Lead orientation sessions covering DriveWhip policies, procedures, and expectations
- Monitor and follow up on late rentals and no-shows (e.g., missed pickup appointments)
- Manage win-back campaigns for drivers who have been inactive for several weeks or months
Driver Qualification Support
- Partner with the Applications team to verify required onboarding documents, including driver's licenses, insurance, and rideshare account standing, before pickup
- Flag eligibility concerns, discrepancies, or high-risk applications for escalation and review
- Provide support for general driver issues such as mechanical problems, towing, or policy questions
Team Oversight & Performance Management
- Monitor daily agent productivity, workflow completion, and outreach/conversion output
- Track team KPIs and ensure agents are consistently moving leads and drivers through each stage
- Identify workflow bottlenecks, quality concerns, or operational inefficiencies and escalate them to management
- Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and support to sales and onboarding team members
- Reinforce accountability, consistency, and adherence to company SOPs
Workflow & Operational Management
- Oversee team lead and driver pipelines to ensure timely progress across all onboarding stages
- Maintain accurate reporting, notes, and tracking within internal systems and CRM platforms
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Applications, Compliance, HR, and Fleet Operations
- Assist management in identifying operational improvements and implementing process enhancements
- Adapt quickly to changing workflows, policies, and operational priorities in a startup environment
Qualifications Required:
- 3+ years of experience in sales, account management, onboarding, or operations
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience preferred
- Experience working in high-volume, process-driven environments
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Experience tracking productivity metrics and team performance
- Comfortable reviewing sensitive information and making judgment-based decisions
- Experience using CRM systems, spreadsheets, and workflow management tools
- Familiarity with rideshare platforms (Uber, Lyft) is a bonus
- Fluent or highly proficient in English
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Call / SMS / Email volume
- Conversion rate (% of approved drivers getting into cars)
- Customer Satisfaction Score (CSAT)

- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to balance personal sales workload with supervisory responsibilities
- Process-oriented with a focus on accountability and operational efficiency
