Business Intelligence and Analytics Manager (Hybrid)

The role – what you’ll do

Barr is seeking a business intelligence and analytics manager to join our Minneapolis, Minnesota, team. In this hybrid role, you will lead reporting, analytics, data enablement, and analytical data architecture capabilities across the organization. You will help the business turn data into trusted, actionable insights while improving KPI consistency, reporting efficiency, data quality, analytical maturity, and user adoption. You will partner with business leaders, data teams, and functional stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions, support data-informed decision-making, and strengthen governance practices. This includes advancing the use of scalable data models, semantic layers, and governed data structures that support consistent reporting, analytics, AI and self-service capabilities.

The ideal candidate brings strong people leadership, stakeholder partnership, and collaboration skills that enable them to effectively align teams and support business priorities. They approach their work with strong communication and stakeholder management skills, building relationships across teams and driving effective outcomes. They are also analytical, with strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset. This role will also help evaluate and apply AI-enabled tools to improve reporting workflows, automate insights, and support proactive decision-making.

Your impact – key responsibilities

• Team leadership and development: manage and develop a team of BI analysts and developers responsible for data warehousing, reporting, visualization, analysis, advanced analytics, and insight delivery.
• Business partnership and solution delivery: partner with stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize work, and translate business needs into scalable models, reporting, analytics, and data science solutions.
• Data governance and standards: establish and maintain trusted definitions, metric logic, reporting standards, documentation, and governance practices across the BI and analytics environment.
• Insights and advanced analytics: oversee recurring reporting, ad hoc analysis, executive insights, and the use of predictive analytics, statistical analysis, forecasting, segmentation, and AI-enabled tools to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and performance drivers.
• Data architecture and platform management: provide direction for the organization’s analytical data architecture, including data models, semantic layers, curated data assets, and common business definitions. Establish scalable modeling practices and partner with data engineering, IS, and business data owners to align source systems, integrations, and analytical structures. Oversee the administration of the Fabric and Power BI environment.

About you – required core competencies

• Education: bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, data science, computer science, or a related field
• Experience: 7+ years of relevant experience in business intelligence, analytics, reporting, or data management roles
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams
  • Working with enterprise source systems, data warehouses, semantic models, or governed reporting environments
  • Leading dashboard development, KPI reporting, business analysis, and analytics delivery
  • Eliciting business requirements and translating to practical data and reporting solutions
  • Proven understanding of data governance and data quality practices
  • Python experience

• • Knowledge of DAX
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional projects
• Software: experience with BI, analytics, and data platforms such as Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure Data Lake, and OneLake
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future

Helpful additional experience (not required)

• Familiarity with AI-enabled analytics
• Experience improving self-service reporting, analytics adoption, or data literacy across business teams
• Experience in a multi-functional or growth-oriented environment with evolving reporting and governance needs
• Experience with performance optimization

Compensation

Anticipated range of $120,000–$145,000 annually. Compensation will vary based on relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. This position is classified as exempt (salaried).
