Indigenous Targeted Role

As part of our commitment to diversity and inclusion, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates will be assessed as a priority. About the opportunity

We are seeking a Project Support Officer to join the WellMob team, part of the government-funded e-Mental Health in Practice consortium. This initiative delivers workforce development in digital mental health within an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander framework and operates within a multi-disciplinary Aboriginal-led team.

In this role, you will provide a range of administrative services that support the performance and progress of the WellMob team. Key responsibilities include leading project social media communications and supporting the preliminary stages of grant applications, forum attendance, research activities, communication and reporting. You will also contribute to maintaining organised records and preparing data for presentations and reports.

Working under the guidance of the Senior Communications and Engagement Officer, the position reports to the team's Project and Training Manager and Director. The role operates under routine supervision, with responsibility for performing tasks in accordance with defined responsibilities, planning and prioritising work, choosing between established methods, and resolving minor operational and routine matters. The Project Support Officer may also provide advice that is reviewed and approved by more senior staff.

This is an opportunity to contribute to meaningful work that supports digital mental health workforce development and strengthens outcomes within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • provide high-quality administrative and operational support to the WellMob team, ensuring the smooth day-to-day delivery of project activities and initiatives across the e-Mental Health in Practice program

  • lead social media and digital communications activities, including developing, scheduling and managing engaging content, coordinating online campaigns, and promoting key events such as NAIDOC Week and Mental Health Week

  • coordinate meetings, workshops, seminars and team events, including preparing documentation, managing travel logistics, arranging venues, catering and IT requirements, and acting as a key point of contact for stakeholders

  • support the development, production and distribution of resources, training materials and promotional content by gathering information, collating materials, updating online platforms and coordinating electronic and physical communications

  • maintain accurate records, databases and project documentation in accordance with established governance processes, while supporting data collection, reporting activities, presentations and the preparation of project-related information

  • process purchasing, invoices, travel and expense claims, liaise with finance teams regarding purchase orders and supplier payments, and contribute to budgeting and financial record-keeping activities

  • respond to enquiries from internal and external stakeholders, providing timely information and administrative support while maintaining effective working relationships across the project and broader network

  • support research, communications and engagement initiatives, including assisting with the preliminary stages of grant applications, resource development, forum attendance and project reporting requirements

  • monitor and maintain project resources and promotional materials, ensuring stock levels are managed and materials are available to support events, training and stakeholder engagement activities

  • undertake ad-hoc projects and additional duties as required, contributing flexibly to team priorities and supporting the successful delivery of WellMob objectives and outcomes within an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander framework.
