The Role

We’re looking for a passionate and hands-on Cyber Security Engineer to join an expanding IT team and play a key role in enhancing the organisation’s security posture across on-premises and cloud environments.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead and support a range of IT security projects, ensuring secure and timely delivery
• Manage and maintain cybersecurity tools across both on-premises and cloud environments, with cloud being a key focus
• Implement, configure and update security solutions including EDR, SIEM, vulnerability management, IAM and cloud security tools
• Collaborate with internal IT, development and third-party teams to embed security across the organisation
• Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans and OSINT investigations
• Monitor emerging threats, zero-day vulnerabilities and new CVEs, assessing their potential impact
• Investigate and respond to security incidents, performing root cause analysis and recommending improvements
• Deliver engaging security awareness training across the business
• Provide security guidance for new technologies and strategic initiatives
• Support day-to-day security operations and enforce strong change control processes
• Assist with SOC alerts, investigations and escalations

 

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in a Cyber Security Engineer or similar technical security role
• Strong understanding of network, infrastructure and application security principles
• Practical experience with security tools and platforms across on-premises and cloud environments
• Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST and CIS
• Experience in risk assessment, vulnerability management and incident response
• Hands-on experience configuring and managing cloud security tools and IAM solutions
• Knowledge of EDR platforms and vulnerability management processes
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH or Azure Security Engineer would be desirable
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex security issues for non-technical audiences
• Proactive, detail-oriented and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
