About the opportunity:

 We are seeking a skilled Substation Project Engineer with a strong background in secondary engineering for GIS and AIS substations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in handling various substation projects, including exposure to 11kV/22kV/33kV/66kV/220kV/500kV GIS and AIS projects

How will you make an impact:

• Handling various substation projects with exposure to GIS and AIS projects. 

• Secondary engineering for GIS and AIS substations, including understanding client specifications, preparation and review of single line diagrams, metering and protection single line diagrams, protection logic, LVAC and DC distribution schemes, cabling sizing calculation and type selection, etc. 

• Supplier engineering documents: HV/MV Equipment (AIS/GIS), relay panels, LCCs, SCADA/RTU/SCMS/SAS, FMS/DFR, Telecom, MV switchgears, LVAC and DC system, FAT procedures, etc. 

• Experience in relay setting and coordination, knowledge of protection & control IEDs. 

• Preparation and review of LVAC, DC system sizing calculations, preparation and review of IO list, CT/VT sizing, control cable list and termination list, etc. 

• Estimation of BOQ for RFQs during project and tender stage, supplier offer evaluations, witnessing FAT and issue resolutions, etc. 

• Engineering of auxiliaries of GIS & AIS substations: LV AC boards, service/auxiliary transformers, earthing transformers, DC system - batteries and battery chargers, UPS, inverter, security system, CCTV, access control, EPABX, sizing calculations, BOQ estimation, RFQ, supplier offer verification, FAT, etc. 

• Coordination with primary, Civil and MEP disciplines in the substation, providing inputs for civil and MEP engineering, interfaces, service coordination check with civil & MEP services, etc. 

• Engineering support for tenders: Preparing BOQ, deviation list, clarifications, technical proposal for tenders and customer enquiries for firm and budgetary tenders. 

• Engineering optimization, value engineering. 

Your background:

• Preparation and review of project engineering deliverables in accordance with contractual scope. 

• Review of vendor offers and supplier drawings to comply with technical requirements and specifications. 

• Monitoring the scope and initiating variation requests, amendment processes, etc., wherever required. 

• Proposal of innovative, optimized, and cost-effective solutions for projects and tenders. 

• Estimation and monitoring of manhours required for project and tenders for secondary engineering part. 

• Coordination with other disciplines such as primary, MEP, and civil for inputs and interfaces. 

• Coordination with supply chain management for procurement-related activities, coordination with project lead engineer and project manager for overall schedule & execution. 

• Coordination with customer/consultant for approvals as per project schedule. 

• Coordination of technical issues during FAT, etc. 

• Site visits as required for project and tenders. 

• Coordination with site team for technical matters during installation & commissioning. 

• Preparation and review of BOQ, deviation list, clarifications, technical proposals for tenders. 

• Preparation and coordination for as-built documentation for applicable scope. 
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
