Dow has an opportunity for a Treasury Specialist, located in São Paulo, Brazil. 

About you and this role:

In this role, you will be responsible for financial management reporting, monthly/quarterly accounting close activities as well as assisting in various insurance related activities, such as global program renewals. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your finance background to contribute to the success of Dow’s Consolidated Insurance subsidiaries, entities with combined admitted assets of over $2.2 billion.

Ideal candidates will have general understanding of the insurance industry, accounting principles, and a willingness to learn and adapt. Responsibilities:

• Deliver monthly, quarterly, and yearly close support to all the insurance subsidiaries.

• Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, footnotes and interrogatories.

• Entity leadership which includes collaboration with external accounting firms, performing trial balance reviews, making SAP financial entries, and communicating quarterly results with senior management.

• Participate in accounting close activities including but not limited to: Maintaining general ledger account balances (e.g. Prepaid asset accounts), reviewing financial statement results, converting US GAAP to Statutory Insurance reporting, and ensuring compliance with operational policies and processes.

• Complete daily accounting audits and quarterly >$1Million transaction documentation in accordance with accounting team internal controls.

• Prepare trial balance fluctuation analysis and financial statement performance analysis, provide meaningful explanations to senior management.

• Interact with internal and external stakeholders, for example internal auditors, external auditors, state regulatory agents, and corporate risk providers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree Accounting.

• Fluent English Level.

• 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry.

• Strong knowledge of USGAAP and SOX compliance.

• Experience with SAP.
