Description
Our client, a fast-growing eCommerce company in the Health Care space is seeking a commercially minded Creative Director to lead the creative function across our ecommerce business.
This role will own the complete creative direction of the brand across paid advertising, website and landing pages, email, organic social media, marketplaces, product launches, and other customer-facing channels.
The Creative Director will be responsible not only for maintaining a strong and consistent brand identity, but also for improving commercial performance. The primary objective of the role is to develop creative strategies and assets that increase conversion rates, improve advertising performance, strengthen customer engagement, and support profitable growth.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can combine creative judgement, customer insight, performance data, and strong team management.
Key Outcomes
Improve Ecommerce Conversion Performance
- Develop creative strategies that improve conversion across paid media, websites, product pages, marketplaces, and email.
- Turn customer insights, performance data, and competitor research into clear briefs and testable concepts.
- Partner with ecommerce teams to improve client acquisition and conversion.
- Establish a structured process for creative testing and optimisation.
Lead Performance Creative Strategy
- Own creative strategy across paid social, video, display, and other acquisition channels.
- Build a consistent pipeline of concepts, hooks, angles, scripts, and formats.
- Ensure sufficient creative volume and variation for testing and scaling.
- Use performance data to identify, improve, and scale winning concepts.
- Balance direct-response effectiveness with strong brand presentation.
Strengthen Website and Product Pages Creatives
- Lead creative direction across the website, landing pages, collection pages, and product pages.
- Improve how product benefits, differentiation, use cases, and customer proof are communicated.
- Create clear visual and messaging hierarchies that make pages more persuasive.
- Collaborate with ecommerce, UX, development, copywriting, and CRO teams on improvements and testing.
- Ensure consistency between advertising and onsite customer experience.
Own Brand Creative Across All Channels
- Maintain a consistent creative direction across paid media, website, email, organic content, marketplaces, packaging, and launches.
- Develop practical brand guidelines that support quality, consistency, and speed.
- Ensure creative work reflects the brand's positioning, audience, and commercial goals.
- Raise the overall standard of design, copy, video, photography, and storytelling.
- Protect brand consistency while encouraging experimentation.
Build and Lead a High-Performing Creative Team
- Lead and develop designers, editors, creators, copywriters, freelancers, and agencies.
- Set clear responsibilities, quality standards, workflows, and performance expectations.
- Provide constructive feedback and support team development.
- Manage the balance between internal and external creative resources.
- Build a culture of accountability, speed, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Improve Creative Operations and Output
- Build an efficient process from research and briefing through production, approval, launch, and iteration.

- Develop creative strategies for product launches, promotions, seasonal campaigns, and major events.

- Coordinate creative production across paid media, website, email, marketplaces, and organic content.
- Review results and apply learnings to future campaigns.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is both creatively ambitious and commercially disciplined. They understand that ecommerce creative must capture attention, communicate value quickly, address customer objections, and motivate action.
They are comfortable moving between high-level strategy and detailed execution. They can confidently lead a team, evaluate creative work, interpret performance data, and collaborate with commercial stakeholders.
They do not rely solely on personal taste. They use customer insight, brand strategy, testing, and business results to make decisions.
Required Experience
- Significant experience in a senior creative leadership role within ecommerce, DTC, retail, consumer products, or a performance-focused agency.
- Demonstrated experience improving conversion and advertising performance through creative strategy.
- Strong understanding of ecommerce customer journeys, product pages, landing pages, paid social, email, and organic content.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary creative teams.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating both brand-building and performance-focused creative work.
- Experience creating and evaluating direct-response advertising concepts.
- Ability to interpret creative, advertising, and ecommerce performance data.
- Strong understanding of design, copywriting, video, photography, content production, and visual storytelling.
- Experience managing multiple projects, deadlines, stakeholders, and production partners.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and feedback skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with physical consumer products.
- Experience with Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Amazon, Shopify, and email marketing platforms.
- Experience with conversion-rate optimisation and structured experimentation.
- Experience producing user-generated content, creator-led advertising, product demonstrations, and testimonial creative.
- Experience managing external agencies, freelancers, studios, photographers, and creators.
- Familiarity with creative analytics and project-management tools.
- Experience scaling an established ecommerce brand across multiple products, markets, or countries.
What Success Looks Like
Within the first 90 days, the Creative Director will have assessed the current brand, creative team, workflows, performance data, customer journey, and existing asset library. They will have identified the largest creative and conversion opportunities and introduced a clear testing and production roadmap.
Within six months, the company should have a stronger creative pipeline, clearer brand direction, faster testing cycles, improved collaboration between creative and growth teams, and measurable improvements in conversion and creative performance.
Within the first year, the Creative Director will have built a scalable creative function that consistently produces high-quality, commercially effective work across every major ecommerce channel.
