Our Microbiology Laboratory in Medtronic, plc, is a highly skilled, service oriented

GMP laboratory supporting multiple Medtronic businesses. The Laboratory

personnel are directly involved in routine testing, support and release, new

product introduction, validation of test methods and Facility updates.

A Day in The Life Of:

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

• Perform routine Microbiological testing to support receiving, in-process and final lot release activities.

•  Support review and release of test data.

•  Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.

•  Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards, and that documentation is compliant with requirements.

•  Drive Laboratory investigations and deviations, initiating appropriate corrective actions and following through to implementation while using robust root-cause analysis tools.

• Adhering to all Microbiology laboratory and relevant site wide procedures and practices for Safety & GMP.

• Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.

• Designs or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.

Key Skills & Experience

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree (Level 7 NFQ) in Engineering/Science or related discipline and 0 years relevant experience.

• Preferably relevant experience in a medical devices or related environment

• Dynamic team player and can work effectively and proactively on cross functional teams

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• You must think critically and make sound decisions

• You must be focused on patient and customer and set high standards, instill operational excellence, and drive accountability

• Have a good understanding of GMP and documentation practices for a technical/professional working environment.

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
