Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a First Line Manufacturing Manager (K) to support the Fabrication Operations team in Hazelwood, MO.

The Fabrication Manager is responsible for supervising day-to-day operations in a fabrication or manufacturing environment. This role focuses on leading frontline teams, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards, while meeting production goals and schedules.

Position Responsibilities:

• Manages employees performing activities in multiple manufacturing disciplines. (Fabrication/Manufacturing environment)
• Develops and executes business plans, policies and procedures and develops organizational and technical strategies
• Acquires resources, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
• Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
• Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
• Manages, develops and motivates employees

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
• High School diploma or GED
• 5+ years of experience in aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing
• 3+ years of experience with process improvement and lean manufacturing
• Experience working with collective bargaining agreements and/or a union represented workforce

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher, or equivalent work or military experience
• Experience with Tube Fabrication (Tube bending or similar)  
• Experience with special processes including heat treatment of metals, welding and chemical processes
• Experience in a leadership role driving organizational and operational change management
• Experience achieving planned business goals and objectives and improvement activities utilizing Boeing Production System (BPS) or Lean Manufacturing principles and processes

Summary pay range: $111,350 – $150,650
