Description
The Accounts Payable Specialist performs complex clerical, and accounting assignments and prepares reports and financial documents.
Education/Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent, required.
- Minimum 1 year of related experience, required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Knowledge of spreadsheets and accounting software.
- Thorough understanding of accounting practices and procedures.
- Ability to enter data accurately and efficiently into computer software and systems.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Principle Responsibilities:
- Conducts routine data entry management for accounting records including accounts payable, cash receipts posting and accounts receivable adjustments.
- Reviews billing statements, invoices, and similar documents for accuracy.
- Posts journal entries to general ledger.
- Generates summary sheets and reports as directed.
- Allocates expenditures to correct accounts according to departmental procedures.
- Assist with various accounting projects as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
