Job Description – TRACKING CLERK
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Receiving and dispatching containers plus daily raising and dispatching client reports.

- Receiving container into ICR
- The receiving of a container into the ICR Cape Town facility must be carried out in accordance with the documented procedures. Understand how to register incoming containers in the TSD system
- Tracking system records checked against security gate register records, discrepancies reported to depot manager. Input accurate information regarding container arrival and details.
- Compiling and sending daily reports to clients
- Daily tracking. Generating tracking and stock reports for clients. Proficient in exporting tracking and stock reports from TSD system to TSD.
- Clients will advise if they do not receive electronic records of all coms. Recorded
- Dispatching containers from ICR
- Capturing and editing of release on the TSD tracking system. The releasing of a container out of the ICR facility must be carried out in accordance with the documented procedures and instructed settings done.
- Tracking system records checked against security gate register records, discrepancies reported to depot manager.
- Clients check port recorded and report discrepancies to us.
- Communicating with Client
- Obtaining and supplying tracking department information to client’s staff via email and or telecommunication.
- Client feedback during monthly meetings
- Capture releases
- Competent in capturing container release in the TSD system. Understand required information and process for registering releases accurately
- Difference between ISO type and size
- Able to identity container types – Dry, Refrigerated and Open top based on ISO codes
- Understand how-to determine the container sizes – 20FT, 40FT and 45FT from ISO codes
- Check container status
- Competent in checking the status of containers within the TSD System
- Familiar with the various container statuses and their meanings
- Check history of containers
- Proficient in accessing and reviewing the historical records of a container in the TSD System.
- Understand how to track container movement, updates, and relevant details.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
Grade 12 / Matric
Basic Computer Skills
Able to create and edit spreadsheets
Inhouse training of the TSD system will be given
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardised situations.
