About the Role
At WGU, we're committed to helping students achieve their educational goals through exceptional service, operational excellence, and financial stewardship. As an Accounting Clerk, you will play a key role in supporting student success by maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with tuition and payment programs, and providing outstanding support to students and internal partners.
What You'll Do
Maintain accounting databases and ensure financial records, documents, and reports are accurate and up to date.
Support the preparation of financial statements, summaries, and other accounting-related reports.
Reconcile various financial records and identify discrepancies for timely resolution.
Assist with month-end reporting activities and accounting processes as needed.
Monitor student accounts associated with payment plans, scholarships, and other non-standard payment arrangements.
Partner with students, vendors, and internal departments to resolve billing, payment, and accounts receivable inquiries.
Support student retention and graduation goals through proactive outreach and inbound telephone support while ensuring compliance with university, state, and federal regulations.
What You'll Bring
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
Experience using bookkeeping programs, accounting software, databases, and Microsoft Office applications.
High degree of accuracy in data entry, record keeping, and financial reporting.

High level of integrity, professionalism, and trustworthiness when handling sensitive financial information.

This is a full-time, in-office position requiring five days per week in our Salt Lake City, Utah office, designed to foster the collaboration and connection that fuel our best work.

This position requires occasional travel of up to 20%, including required attendance at designated company summits (typically one to two per year).
