WHY MPS?
Committed. Innovative. Engaged. At Modular Power Solutions (MPS), we are transforming how complex power infrastructure is designed, manufactured, and delivered through offsite manufacturing, modular engineering, and scalable execution. As part of the Rosendin family and an employee-owned organization, MPS offers the opportunity to work alongside industry-leading professionals while contributing to meaningful projects that support the future of modular infrastructure. Our culture is built on safety, integrity, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. We empower our employees to innovate, grow their careers, and share in the success they help create through employee ownership.
YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY
The Manager, Structural Engineering provides senior-level structural engineering expertise for MPS’s offsite manufacturing and modular delivery model. This role supports the design, review, coordination, and execution of structural systems, foundations, equipment supports, modular assemblies, skids, frames, and interfaces that enable scalable modular power solutions. The Structural Engineer partners closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, operations, project management, procurement, and field teams to ensure designs are technically sound, manufacturable, code-compliant, and aligned with customer requirements from design through fabrication, deployment, installation, and closeout. As MPS continues to grow, this individual will also be expected to build, lead, and manage a team of engineers by providing technical direction, mentoring talent, establishing engineering standards, prioritizing work, and creating scalable processes that support engineering excellence, operational execution, and long-term business growth.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Review and interpret geotechnical reports, foundation design criteria, structural drawings, structural calculations, and project specifications to validate design assumptions, performance requirements, and constructability.
Prepare, review, and coordinate PE-stamped/sealed structural deliverables, calculations, design packages, and technical reports supporting modular power solutions, offsite manufacturing, and project-specific jurisdictional requirements.
Perform design review and oversight for foundations, equipment pads, steel supports, modular frames, skids, assemblies, central plant components, and other structural systems used in MPS’s modular delivery model.
Support foundation layout verification, anchor bolt coordination, tolerance checks, transportation considerations, and structural interface reviews during design, fabrication, manufacturing, deployment, and installation.
Coordinate with civil, mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, quality, procurement, deployment, and operations teams to ensure proper integration between foundations, equipment skids, transformers, racking, structural supports, modular assemblies, and building systems.
Provide technical feedback to design engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, and industry standards.
Review and approve structural and foundation submittals, material testing reports, steel and concrete documentation, and concrete mix designs.
Conduct visits to manufacturing facilities, project sites, and customer locations to observe fabrication, installation, and deployment of foundations, modular frames, steel supports, equipment skids, and related structural systems for compliance with design intent.
Assist with as-built verification and documentation for modular structural assemblies, foundation systems, manufacturing interfaces, and field-installed structural components.
Lead root cause investigations of structural or foundation nonconformances, performance issues, and field deviations, and recommend technically sound corrective actions.
Collaborate with project and quality teams to develop inspection and testing plans for structural and foundation scopes.
Maintain detailed engineering documentation and technical reports for leadership, client, and authority-having-jurisdiction review.
Build, develop, and manage a team of engineers as MPS continues to scale, including providing technical direction, coaching, workload prioritization, support for engineering standards, and accountability for team performance.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
Advanced understanding of structural analysis, geotechnical interaction, foundation design principles, and soil-structure interaction for modular power solutions, offsite manufacturing, industrialized construction, and large infrastructure projects.
Proficiency with structural analysis and design software such as RISA, STAAD, RAM, SAP2000, ETABS, or equivalent tools.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, or comparable design/model review tools for evaluation of structural layouts, foundation plans, grading interfaces, and multidisciplinary coordination.
Strong working knowledge of ACI, AISC, ASCE, IBC, ASTM, and other applicable structural, material, and building code requirements.
Ability to interpret structural drawings, rebar details, fabrication drawings, steel details, foundation schedules, geotechnical reports, vendor documents, and project specifications.
Experience supporting modular construction, prefabricated systems, offsite manufacturing, modular power solutions, central plant facilities, BESS, substation, utility-scale solar, data center, or other large infrastructure projects is strongly preferred.
Excellent communication, technical writing, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, provide technical leadership, and make sound engineering recommendations under limited supervision.
Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and manage an engineering team, including mentoring engineers, establishing technical standards, creating scalable processes, and supporting business growth.
Willingness to travel to project sites, manufacturing locations, client meetings, and other Rosendin/MPS locations as required.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
