We are seeking for an Accountant based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Verification of all incoming invoices with existing PO and/or contracts.
- Entry and archiving of incoming invoices in ERP-system (weclapp).
- Creation and entry of all outgoing invoices.
- Execute payment runs and make them available to the approver:
- Monitor payment holds before each payment run.
- Ensure that payments are made only for posted and correct goods receipts.
- Import bank statements into ERP-system and reconcile open items.
- Processing the credit card statements (T&E, lodge and purchase card).
- Upload all invoices to "DATEV Unternehmen Online" to make them available to the external accounting department including an explanation of the details to enable the preparation of entries in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB).
- Reconciliation Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
- Significant support for the integration process into Copeland standard structures and procedures (e.g. future migration to Oracle; set-up of dual ledger procedures).
- Support for monthly and anual statements (HGB & US-GAAP.)
- Support of the tax advisor for VAT reconciliation and advance VAT return (Germany and Switzerland).
Required qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in a comparable position.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Fluent English and intermediate German language skills are required for this role.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or similar platforms.
- Basic knowledge of IFRS and/or German GAAP is considered an advantage.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional and international teams.
- Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking capabilities.
