You will serve as a technology leader responsible for advancing DevSecOps practices, cloud engineering capabilities, platform engineering, and cybersecurity. Working closely with stakeholders, cybersecurity teams and engineering teams, you will champion a culture of automation, security-by-design, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
This role combines strategic leadership, technical depth and organizational influence to improve engineering productivity, reduce technology risk, strengthen cybersecurity posture, and accelerate delivery of business value across the enterprise.
Accountabilities
Driving technical innovation and adoption of emerging cloud technologies and standard methodologies
Providing architectural guidance for cloud migrations and modernization initiatives
Conducting architecture reviews and ensuring adherence to established standards
Managing technical risks and recommending mitigation strategies
Establishing and maintaining user documentation and runbooks
Design and manage multi-account architectures using Control Tower and Organizations; establish standards and reference designs; drive FinOps and cost optimization.
Build Terraform frameworks with modules, state management, and policy enforcement; define Ansible standards; implement Policy as Code (AWS Config).
Implement DevSecOps practices, design security-by-default architectures; implement vulnerability scanning (Trivy, Qualys, AWS Inspector, SonarQube); implement secrets management.
Design monitoring platforms (CloudWatch / Prometheus / Grafana / ELK); leverage AI tools and capabilities for anomaly detection and auto-remediation, implement AIOps and Observability.
Design CI/CD pipelines for enterprise applications; architect blue-green and canary deployments; establish artifact management standards.
Provide technical leadership, architectural guidance and reviews; mentor engineers; evaluate tools and technologies; collaborate across teams; establish standard processes and documentation.
Essential Skills/Experience
8+ years in DevSecOps/Cloud Engineering with deep hands-on technical expertise
5+ years architecting enterprise-scale AWS solutions in production environments
AWS expertise: VPC/Transit Gateway, IAM/SSO, EC2/EKS/ECS/Fargate, Lambda, RDS/Aurora/DynamoDB, S3/CloudFront, CloudWatch/X-Ray, Inspector, Security Hub, Config, Control Tower, Organizations
IaC expertise: Expert-level Terraform (modules, workspaces, state backends, policy integration) and Ansible (roles, collections, automation at scale)
CI/CD experience: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI with complex pipeline architectures
Security automation: Hands-on with vulnerability scanning, SAST/DAST, secrets management, policy as code, and compliance automation
Container orchestration: Production Kubernetes/EKS experience including cluster management, service mesh, and security
Observability: Implementation of monitoring/logging/alerting platforms with AIOps capabilities (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK)
Programming: Python, Bash, or Go for automation and tooling
Communication: Excellent presentation and documentation skills for technical and executive audiences
Collaboration: Proven ability to work across teams and influence technical direction
Desirable Skills/Experience
Certifications: AWS Solutions Architect Professional, AWS DevOps Engineer Professional, AWS Security Specialty, Kubernetes (CKA/CKS), Terraform Associate/Professional
Industry experience: Regulated environments (pharmaceutical, healthcare, financial services) with GxP, HIPAA, or SOC 2 compliance experience
Methodologies: Deep knowledge of Platform engineering, SRE principles, and FinOps frameworks
Multi-cloud: Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architectures
Emerging technologies: Serverless architectures, AI/ML platforms
