We're recruiting for an experienced Transport Manager to join a well-established removals company based in Hayes, Middlesex. This is a varied role where you'll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation, managing a team, maintaining excellent customer service and ensuring the transport function runs compliantly and efficiently.

The Role

As the Removals Operations / Transport Manager, you'll take ownership of the daily operation, ensuring jobs are planned efficiently, customers receive an excellent service and the transport fleet remains fully compliant.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and scheduling daily removals
• Managing drivers and removals operatives
• Recruiting, training and developing staff
• Acting as the main point of contact for customers
• Managing move costings and issuing invoices
• Monitoring profitability and operational performance
• Ensuring vehicle maintenance and transport compliance
• Managing tachographs, licensing and legal transport requirements
• Maintaining high health and safety standards across the operation

 

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience within the removals industry
• Experience managing transport or removals operations
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Good understanding of transport legislation and compliance
• CPC qualification is advantageous but not essential
• Full UK driving licence
• Organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
