Role Definition
Designs, implements, and evaluates a facility or organization's learning courses and programs.

Responsibilities
•    Assisting in determining learning needs and objectives for an organization's employees.
•    Applying suitable methodologies to achieve identified learning objectives.
•    Developing programs and courses along with supporting materials for learning initiatives.
•    Assisting in evaluating employees' learning performance and related improvements.

Degree or equivalent experience desired

Skill Descriptors
Production Training: Knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for delivering formal and informal training on the safe and efficient operation of production machinery; ability to conduct effective formal and situation-specific training.
Level Working Knowledge: 
•     Schedules and executes training sessions for production employees.
•     Prepares lesson plans and materials for upcoming training sessions.
•     Documents the production process and writes user manuals detailing production machinery operation.
•     Instructs staff in the basic set-up and operation of production machinery.
•     Maintains records documenting employees' successful completion of production training programs.

Effective Presentations: Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques; ability to present information to groups with the appropriate degree of formality.
Level Basic Understanding: 
•     Describes basic presentation tools and techniques.
•     Explains the importance of targeting presentations to the audience.
•     Describes resources available for advice and support for making presentations.
•     Describes different types of formal presentations.

Instructional Design: Knowledge of relevant instructional design concepts and processes; ability to design instructional content to meet the learning needs of a target population.
Level Basic Understanding: 
•     Describes the common instructional design methodologies.
•     Gathers information on an organization's instructional design cases.
•     Compiles a list of design tools for different instruction types (such as text- or web-based).
•     Identifies the instructional designer's activities.

Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
Level Basic Understanding: 
•     Seeks help to modify priorities as new information surfaces or conditions change.
•     Demonstrates the ability to estimate the time and resources required to complete tasks.
•     Identifies own key assignments, schedules, and process steps.
•     Applies the concept of 'critical path' in order to complete work in a timely manner and keep larger tasks on track.

Training Needs Analysis: Knowledge of tools, techniques and methods of training needs analyses; ability to identify what people need to learn for successful individual and organizational performance.
Level Basic Understanding: 
•     Identifies phases and activities that are involved in training needs analysis.
•     Compiles a list of training needs analysis tools and techniques.
•     Describes the purposes of training needs analysis.
•     Supports activities for an organization's training needs analysis.

Training Solution Development: Knowledge of training solution development procedures, tools and techniques; ability to utilize the knowledge for developing a solution to stated training needs.
Level Working Knowledge: 
•     Monitors training solution development in all phases of the training life cycle.
•     Participates in developing a training solution for a documented need.
•     Selects appropriate tools and techniques to develop training solutions.
•     Analyzes successful examples of training solutions development.
•     Assists in evaluating training development costs.

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Level Basic Understanding: 
•     Describes non-verbal behaviors that influence the interpretation of the message.
•     Cites examples of effective and ineffective communications.
•     Explains the importance of effective business communication.
•     Speaks/writes using correct language, mechanics, and gestures.

This position requires working onsite five days a week.
