Role Highlights: Take ownership of a strategically important product category across the Asia Pacific region and play a pivotal role in shaping its future. Reporting directly to the GM of the portfolio, you'll lead category strategy, strengthen key supplier partnerships and drive the harmonisation of product portfolios following recent acquisitions. This is a rare opportunity to combine technical expertise with commercial leadership while influencing business performance across APAC.
Role Overview
Reporting to the GM of the portfolio, you will lead the Industrial Hose & Connectors category across the Asia Pacific region. Working within a matrix structure, you'll provide strategic leadership to a team of Product Managers while developing and executing a commercially focused category strategy that drives growth, profitability and long-term market success. You'll own supplier relationships, optimise product portfolios, support the development of the home brand range and work closely with sales, supply chain and technical teams across APAC.
This role presents a unique opportunity to shape the future of the category. Following recent acquisitions, the business is focused on harmonising product portfolios, standardising category structures and creating a consistent customer offering across the region. Success will come from your ability to influence stakeholders, challenge traditional ways of working and deliver commercially focused outcomes that support the organisation's long term strategy.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the APAC strategy for the Industrial Hose & Connectors category, driving long-term growth and profitability.
- Build and strengthen strategic supplier partnerships, negotiating commercial agreements and identifying new market opportunities.
- Lead product portfolio optimisation, including ranging, pricing, home brand development and product harmonisation across the region.
- Partner with Sales, Supply Chain and key stakeholders to optimise category performance, inventory and commercial outcomes.
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of Product Managers while providing technical guidance across the business.
- Analyse market trends, customer insights and competitor activity to identify opportunities that deliver sustainable commercial growth.
Candidate Profile
You bring strong experience within the industrial hose, connectors, hydraulics or broader fluid power industry and have successfully led product or category management functions within a technical environment. Commercially astute and strategically minded, you're comfortable developing category strategies, managing supplier relationships and translating market insights into profitable outcomes. You enjoy influencing stakeholders across a matrix organisation, challenging the status quo and driving meaningful change. Leadership experience, strong commercial negotiation skills and a collaborative approach will be key to your success. Qualifications in Business, Marketing or a related discipline will be highly regarded, although industry expertise and proven commercial capability are considered the most important attributes.
Culture & Benefits
Join one of Asia Pacific's leading industrial engineering businesses, backed by the strength and stability of a global organisation. This is a business that empowers its leaders, encourages ownership and invests in developing high-performing talent. You'll join an experienced team where you'll have the autonomy to shape strategy, influence key decisions and make a lasting commercial impact across the region.
- Own a strategically important category across the Asia Pacific region.
- Genuine career progression - previous incumbent promoted into a General Manager role.
- Hybrid working, collaborative culture and $165k + Super + Bonus.
