General Maintenance - Part Time

Summary:

The Maintenance Technician performs a variety of maintenance and repair tasks in guest rooms and common spaces to keep the hotel in compliance with safety standards and ensure the safety of hotel guests, associates, and vendors. This position will perform maintenance and repairs along with preventative maintenance to maintain the physical structure and grounds of the hotel and its property. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Maintain the basic upkeep of all room and common areas by ensuring all furniture, appliances, and electrical equipment such as televisions, refrigerators, and light fixtures are in working order 
• Organize supplies and make sure equipment is ready for the next day 
• Maintain high safety standards – follow guidelines and report any incidents, dangerous conditions, or unsafe equipment 
• Take responsibility for the safety and cleanliness of areas inside and outside the hotel, such as the parking areas, by conducting periodic tours of the property 
• Keep an eye out for improvements – follow the preventative maintenance calendar and keep everything in working condition 
• Keep leadership in the loop and notify them of any low-running supplies 
• Communicate effectively with the hotel staff  
• Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor in the dealings with clients, guests, managers, and other hotel staff 
• Take on extra duties as needed by leadership
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings and overnights.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move heavy objects 
• Ability to stand during entire shift 
• Additional tasks may be assigned at any given time 

Requirements

Qualifications:

• High school education or GED 
• 1-2 Years of hotel maintenance experience 
• Customer service experience 
• Ability to effectively prioritize tasks 
• Thrives in a flexible environment and can switch tasks quickly 
• Basic maintenance certification/accreditation preferred 
• Is a team player 
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written 
• Ability to work overnights, weekends and evenings (required)

Pay is based upon several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
