Director of Business Development - Warehousing, Distribution & 3PL Sales

METRO PARK WAREHOUSES, LLC

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Director of Business Development to lead new customer acquisition efforts and drive revenue growth throughout the Kansas City market. This role will focus on identifying, pursuing, and securing new warehousing, distribution, and third-party logistics (3PL) opportunities while building strong relationships with local businesses and decision-makers.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record in warehousing, distribution, logistics, or 3PL sales and possesses an established network within the Kansas City business community. This is a hands-on sales leadership position that reports directly to the CEO and plays a critical role in the company's growth strategy.

Location: Kansas City, MO (On-Site Only)

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Compensation: $80,000 - $120,000 Base Salary + Car Allowance + Uncapped Commission Plan

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities within the warehousing, distribution, and logistics sectors.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified prospects throughout the Kansas City market.
• Develop strategic relationships with manufacturers, distributors, retailers, transportation providers, and supply chain decision-makers.
• Conduct customer needs assessments and develop tailored logistics and warehousing solutions.
• Lead the sales process from prospecting through contract negotiation and implementation.
• Collaborate with operations leadership to ensure smooth onboarding and successful customer transitions.
• Develop and execute market growth strategies to expand the company's footprint in the Kansas City region.
• Attend local networking events, industry functions, and trade associations to generate leads and strengthen brand presence.
• Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reporting, and performance metrics.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to prospective clients on warehousing, fulfillment, distribution, and logistics solutions.

Qualifications:

Required

• 5+ years of successful Business Development, Sales, or Account Executive experience in:
  • Warehousing
  • Distribution
  • Logistics
  • Supply Chain Services
  • Third-Party Logistics (3PL)

• Demonstrated success generating and closing new business opportunities.
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, transportation, distribution networks, and fulfillment services.
• Established relationships and market knowledge within the Kansas City business community.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and drive results with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred

• Direct 3PL sales experience.
• Existing network of local supply chain and logistics contacts.
• Experience selling warehouse space, fulfillment solutions, transportation services, or integrated logistics programs.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Marketing, or related field.
