Manager/Senior Manager, Data Management (DSAD) [Contract till 30 Dec 2027]

[What the role is]

The Manager/Senior Manager, Data Management, is a pivotal role within the Data Strategy & Artificial Intelligence Division (DSAD), tasked with spearheading the development, implementation, and oversight of data management & AI governance policies and processes. This role is designed for an individual who is committed to upholding the highest standards of data & AI governance in alignment with Whole of Government (WoG) regulations and best practices. [What you will be working on]

Data & AI Governance:

 

Policies & Frameworks

• Develop and implement comprehensive data management & AI governance policies, processes and controls in accordance with WoG requirements, such as the Public Service Governance Act and the IM8, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as business users, data scientists and data engineers to develop and implement an AI governance framework flexible enough to meet dynamic business needs yet compliant to fast-changing WoG requirements.

Data Operations

• Develop templates for data-related documentation such as legal agreements, to drive secure sharing use of data amongst government and non-government partners.

• Collaborate with the IT department to enforce good data management measures, ensuring robust data security and compliance across all systems.

• Serve as a subject matter expert in the area data management & AI governance to support fast evolving needs of internal stakeholders, fostering a culture of compliance and accountability to ensure responsible use of data & AI.
• Ensure that acquisition and sharing of data in support of operational, analytic and reporting needs is compliant to good data management principles.
• Ensure and monitor the agency’s compliance to WoG requirements, such as the Public Service Governance Act and the IM8 in the areas of data management & AI governance.
• Support the development of guidance materials, communications and training programmes to strengthen knowledge of data management & AI governance across the agency.

• Monitor effectiveness of data management & AI governance initiatives, leveraging insights to drive continuous improvement and strategic alignment with organizational goals.

[What we are looking for]

·       A minimum of 2 years of practical experience in data governance, data management, or a related field

·       Strong foundational knowledge in data architecture, systems, and models. Certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), or Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are highly desirable

·       In-depth understanding of data management principles, frameworks, and best practices

·       Proficiency in data quality management techniques and tools

·       Strong critical thinking abilities, coupled with a logical approach to problem-solving

·       Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills

·       A steadfast commitment to professionalism, integrity, and credibility, reflecting our organizational values and culture

 

The successful candidate will be offered a contract until 30 December 2027.
