Description
Treasure Coast Community Health (TCCH), a long-established and highly respected healthcare provider and Federally Qualified Health Center with locations throughout Indian River County, FL is seeking a Dentist to join our team.
The Dentist diagnoses and treats diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth and gums, and related oral structures by performing the following duties.
Key Duties and Responsibilities; include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provides for the complete and accurate documentation of patient dental records for the office.
- Assures that the confidentiality of the patient is consistently maintained.
- Completes dental records in Dexis to ensure that all patients have an initial history and physical examination and ongoing preventative medicine that is appropriate by age and disease category and assures appropriate follow up.
- Directs the preparation and maintenance of company-required reports as directed.
- Documentsaccurateandcompleteaccountsofinteractionwithpatientsintheelectronic dental record of each patient as per TCCH policy.
- Completesalldocumentationrequirementsofthepositioninasuitabletimeframesoas to prevent any delays or reductions in payments from third parties.
- Directs the efforts of the office to provide for the highest quality of dental care.
- As directed by Dental Director, responds to any and all results of the Q.A. program.
- Maintains compliance with all standards which are required by the applicable regulatory bodies. And follows clinical protocols.
- Functions as the coordinator of the care delivered to any patient presented to the practice and being cared for by the dentist.
- As assigned by the Dental Director, serves as member on all clinical committees and provides administrative support as necessary. Including participating in improvement of dental quality and attending mandatory and other educational conferences that are job related.
- Communicates clearly and effectively in a professional and caring manner, assuring positive practice in the community being served. As well as with the Dental Director, other dentist, other practice physicians, etc. to promote the smooth running of dental affairs, including obtaining time appropriate consultations as required for patientcare.
- Provides for the maximum availability of clinical services to potential patients of the practice.
- Plans ahead for C.P.E. and personal time off and seeks approval for same.
- As necessary, provides on-call services for other clinicians in the practice and cross covers in order to provide for the most convenient care for the patients of the practice.
- Actively participates and directs patient care and maintains a safe comfortable environment for patients.
- Works in cooperation with nursing co-workers, other Center departments, physicians and nursing management staff.
- Establishes effective interpersonal relationships with patients, families and co-workers.
- Maintains a positive and cooperative attitute.
- Adheres to dress code.
- Follows on-call coverage, weekend and evening assignments and is flexible when adjustments in scheduling are needed.
- Works in any area (floats) as requested by Dental Director.
- Knows location of policies and procedures. Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Understands, supports and participates in QA/QI programs.
- Communicates any concerns about patient care issues or interpersonal difficulties.
- Communicates following proper chain of command and follows proper channels of communications.
- Reads notes and initials as required.
- Completes special requests from Dental Director or his/her designee in a timely manner.
- Accepts requests from Dental Director or his/her designee in a respectful professional manner.
Required qualifications include documentation of completion of education as an DMD/DDS. Education and/or Experience
Graduate of an accredited dental school, licensed in the State of Florida and Board Certified, unless waived by the Board of Dentistry for indigent care. Must be CPR certified at all times.
