Design Intern

Position Overview 

Dark Matter is seeking a creative and motivated Design Intern to join our Marketing team. This role is ideal for a student eager to gain real-world experience in branding, digital marketing, graphic design, and multimedia content creation within a fast-paced technology company. 

As a Design Intern, you will work closely with the Creative Director and Marketing team to support campaigns, events, product marketing initiatives, social media, video projects, sales enablement materials, and corporate branding efforts. This internship provides hands-on exposure to creative strategy, campaign execution, and the development of assets used by both internal and external audiences.  
 

Responsibilities 

• Assist with the creation of marketing collateral, including: 
  • Product sheets 
  • Sales presentations 
  • Event materials 
  • Digital advertisements 
  • Social media graphics 
  • Email marketing assets 
• Support the development and maintenance of Dark Matter’s visual brand standards across all marketing channels. 
• Create and resize graphics for web, social media, conferences, and advertising campaigns. 
• Help design presentation visuals, landing page graphics, infographics, and thought leadership content. 
• Participate in brainstorming sessions for campaigns, events, and creative initiatives. 
• Assist with basic video editing, motion graphics, and multimedia projects. 
• Prepare artwork files for digital and print production. 
• Conduct competitive and visual research to support campaign development. 
• Collaborate with marketing, product marketing, events, and sales teams on creative requests. 
• Organize and maintain digital asset libraries and design files. 

 

Qualifications 

Required 

• Currently pursuing a degree in Graphic Design or related creative field 
• Strong portfolio showcasing design work and creative thinking. 
• Proficiency in: 
  • Illustrator and InDesign 
  • PC and Microsoft environment 
• Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and design best practices. 
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. 

Preferred 

• Experience with: 
  • Figma 
  • Canva 
  • HubSpot or other Email Platform 
• Clear understanding of branding and marketing principles. 
• Interest in SaaS, fintech, mortgage technology, or B2B marketing. 
• Familiarity with social media content creation and digital advertising formats.
