The opportunity
Reporting directly to the CTO, you’ll work to agree priorities, then own the detail from requirements through to release and improvement.
Your remit will span customer-facing websites, online purchasing journeys and the integrations behind them. The role combines roadmap input with hands-on product ownership. You’ll turn business needs into clear requirements, challenge development proposals, guide external agencies and follow releases through to measurable results.

What you’ll own
- Roadmaps and priorities: Contribute to product roadmaps and translate agreed priorities into a clear, deliverable backlog.
- Backlog and requirements: Turn opportunities into clear user stories, acceptance criteria and manageable pieces of work.
- Agency delivery: Lead external development partners, challenge estimates and technical recommendations, and hold delivery to agreed standards.
- Testing and releases: Coordinate UAT, manage defect resolution and make sure changes are ready for customers.
- Product performance: Measure customer behaviour, adoption and conversion, then use the evidence to guide improvements.
- Stakeholder decisions: Explain costs, dependencies and trade-offs so people can make informed choices.
What you’ll bring
You’ve worked as a Product Manager or Product Owner across marketplace, e-commerce or transactional digital products, with clear examples of what you owned and the outcomes you delivered.
You’ll also bring:
- Technical confidence to discuss APIs, integrations and development approaches, and challenge recommendations when needed.
- Experience managing external development agencies or software delivery partners.
- Hands-on capability across prioritisation, requirements, testing and release management.
- A track record of using data and customer insight to improve digital journeys.
- Commercial judgment and the ability to work through competing priorities in a smaller business.
A background in software development or technical leadership would be valuable. Automotive experience is welcome; relevant marketplace or e-commerce product experience is the priority.
